Review: Moorpark Fitness is the Amy's Baking Company of gyms. In case you aren't familiar with Amy's baking company ... you should know that I could not describe a business, or its owner, in less flattering terms. Last month, my girlfriend and I walked into this little neighborhood gym after being enticed by their convenient location and supposed competitive prices (advertised as $20/month). The owner, [redacted], was very friendly at first, and he seemed willing to help us in our first encounter with him. He was about to leave for the day, but stayed to help; he showed us a flyer with the "standard" sign-up fee, but said he'd give us a special discounted rate this once. Before he could get into the specifics, one of his employees walked up, and she said she'd help us so he could go home. She was young, friendly, energetic, and not very clear in how she explained the membership. Therefore, I made sure to ask her repeatedly, "So if we pay this one time fee of $35/person this month, we can come back in here next month and the month after that until we cancel ... and get the membership fee of $20?" She responded without hesitation, "Yes." I asked her this same question in several different ways (to ensure she understood) over the course of this discussion, and every single time, she told me (even flat out once): "Yes, you are paying $70 now, but it will be $40 for the two of you each month from here on out."Our initial month expired,& my girlfriend and I came in, excited to renew, describing to Kevin what his employee had told us. Immediately, he was dismissive, "She never said that." In the most blunt, and accusatory fashion ... he dismissed me and my girlfriend as if we were criminals or something. I kept my cool and tried to reason with him, or at least get something similar to what his employee promised, but he just kept getting more angry and defensive, even cussing us out IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. If you look at Yelp, he also charges people for things they didn't agree to. STAY AWAY.Desired Settlement: I simply want to make sure that no other customers are subject to his unclear advertising and poor customer service. This guy needs his policies and procedures examined, and he needs to stop charging people for things he didn't clearly explain to them. Moreover, I want to make SURE that I do not receive another charge on my credit card. Please be sure he erases me from his database, along with any other dissatisfied customers. Thank you.

Review: This gym is known for taking your credit card information and charging your account multiple times (4 times) in one month, instead of once. The owner is never available in person, or via telephone and does not have a staff working the front desk. Three business days have gone by and we still have not heard back from the owner, nor have we gotten through to a voicemail. The phone number on the website is now disconnected! Left a note for the owner to call back and he never did.Desired Settlement: Refund of the three fraudulent charges; $80.00
