I spoke with [redacted] , our rep that went out, about this and he said he spoke with [redacted] , the brand of the unit, and gave them the s/n of ***'s unit and they told him it had a year warranty, I'm glad they were wrong, but we had no way of knowing this As for the diagnosis, he did find the leak, but he did not feel like it could be fixed due to how much oil had been lost and the system being contaminated a [redacted] with the noises it was making, we would not have been able to guarantee it would work if he fixed the leak He thought he was doing what was best for the customer and their situation We did explain that he should have offered to try and fix the leak without any guarantee a [redacted] with the other two options I am sorry that they are disappointed but I assure you he was not trying to miss lead them

I understands our customers frustration. Richard did tell me about the refund and we were in a middle of a move and I just completely forgot, I do not recall receiving an email, sorry. I will issue the check for $today. Thank you,Susan

I am rejecting this response because:  My warranty papers state that on a residential install the warranty is 10 yrs.  I appreciate that they informed the service tech that he should have also included the third option which was to repair the unit.  I however, was not given that option.  For retired people there is a BIG difference between a $4850, $3000, or $170.00 repair bill.  I am requesting my $99 be refunded.
