The outstanding charges are for tuition/fees and bookstore charges as detailed in the previous response. The student references "free classes that MRTC [sic] gave to me for my past work experience" in his response. The student submitted a portfolio for MPTC to review for credit for prior learning (CPL) for occupational experience. The student was awarded 20 credits at a total cost of $701.20 for these credits following MPTC's fee structure. This is equal to 30% of the in-state tuition rate per credit plus a $30 processing fee. The per credit charge was $33.56 for a total of $671.20 in tuition along with the $30 processing fee totaling the $701.20.  The CPL credits were approved by MPTC on June 30, 2011 and awarded to the student upon receipt of payment of the $701.20 via credit card on January 13, 2012.All correspondence regarding the outstanding balance due was sent via USPS to the address provided by the student.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As MPTC has stated that the 20 credits I was given because of my work experience I paid the total invoice of 701.20 when it was due. I pay all my bills and have always.I do not feel that after 5 years that I should be paying for a invoice that was from 2012 and have my credit run through the mud because MPTC has not contacted or sent me invoices stating that I owed them a remainder of 443.49. I was told when I was contacted from Wisconsin IRS and called MPTC if I would have appealed this back in 2012 that I would not have to pay this invoice. But if I appeal it now because it has been 5 years that the appeal would not work now. So I owe it. So I paid it. I feel MPTC should reimburse me the money because if they would have contacted me sooner I could have filed the appeal and we would not have gotten to this point. From the time I canceled the on line courses(2012) until just recently being contacted by Wisconsin IRS (2017)I have not known that I owed MPTC any money. They should reimburse me the 499.66 as if the appeal was filed back in 2012.
