Review: I would like to inform you on how Park Place Apartments located in South Park (Pennsylvania), owned by [redacted] based out of [redacted], wronged me. I returned home from Afghanistan in September 2012 and noticed that some items in the apartment needed to be fixed. The blinds in the living room fell off and the refrigerator was no longer getting cold. I asked the property manager [redacted] and her daughter [redacted] to repair the problems that we had. They told me that it would be taken care of in a few weeks. When nothing was done, I went down and asked them to fix it again and I received the same response. We later found out that the refrigerator that was originally ordered for OUR apartment was actually installed in a newer “remodeled” apartment unit (per [redacted]’s request). Nothing was done in any sort of timely manner, so my fiancé and I decided to look for houses. We found one and I was approved for a loan. We gave them more than a month notice and paid the $2000.00 early termination fee as well as any other payment they asked for. We moved out and had the electric and other utilities that we had to cover shut off and/or transferred to our new home on March 1, 2013. Neither [redacted] nor [redacted] did a final walk through with us, so we did not know what needed to be done and received a statement of charges for “damages” done to the apartment. Some of these “damages” were for items/appliances that we either never even used (dishwasher), overpricing for certain items ($25 to screw a fire alarm back onto the base? $60 for new drip pans for stove top?), or for something they were supposed to fix and never did (broken blinds). They even went so far as to charge us for supposedly not vacuuming all the carpeted floors when we actually did (and we have 4 witnesses to that effect). When I gave them the notice of our move out date, I did not know if I would be able to get Friday March 1st off of work, so I wrote down the 2nd, which is a Saturday. After the move and when we finally got settled in, I checked my bank statement and noticed that they took the full rent out for the month of March (taken out March 4th), when we told them that we would be moved out by March 2nd. I have been in communication with [redacted] through email because they rarely pick up the phone and are hardly in the office during office hours. After much back and forth communication, [redacted] said that a check would be mailed to me for the amount of the rent, minus two days that we said we would be living there. That was more than a month ago and I still have not received a check or had the amount direct deposited back into my account. I feel that when I notified [redacted] and [redacted] of my departure, they wanted to get as much money from me as possible and was pressured into paying. This is why I feel that I was wronged. I still have not received any money back and keep hearing the run around with no real answer. There is not even a contact number or e-mail address for the higher-ups at [redacted] listed on their main website. The only contact information listed goes directly to the individual complexes. If you can please help me that would be greatly appreciated. I can email the bank statement with the direct deposit taken out of my account and the e-mails between [redacted] and myself to show how unprofessional she has been through this ordeal.Desired Settlement: Refund
