Morgan Paving

I absolutely do NOT recommend Morgan Construction for driveway/asphalt work My wife and I hired Mike to tear out our old driveway and relay/repave a new driveway about years ago This was a terrible mistake!
The initial meeting with his sales rep (I believe his name was Richard) was fine Richard promised the world and was very confident/believable Problem is Richard didn't do the work Richard promised that they were able to get started quickly, and that's why we hired Morgan ConstructionOur contract said that Morgan Construction would excavate 8", then backfill with 5" of compacted stone and 3" of asphalt However, 8" was never excavated I would estimate that ~3" was excavated Not only did this not meet the contract of 5" of compacted stone, but it wouldn't even leave enough room for the 3" of asphalt that was supposed to be added After pointing this out to Mike, he assured us that we have "a good base" and he didn't need to excavate a full 8" Well, Mike was wrongFast forward years We noticed this past weekend that our driveway is literally caving in I can put my hand into one of the holes...and it's getting larger by the day Mike's warranty on his work? years Pretty convenient, huh? I guess he should have excavated the full 8" like he originally said he would do...but never did I'm now making calls to other more reputable asphalt contractors in the area to see if anyone can fix Morgan Contruction's mess without ripping out the entire driveway (again) and starting overDo not hire Morgan Construction for asphalt/driveway work!

I usually don’t write reviews or really read them but I felt compelled to write something nice about the Morgan crew I was that impressed with this level of service I received from Morgan’s construction and paving definitely under promised and definitely over delivered they showed up at my house bright an early and I came home for my midmorning break my driveway and walkway were completely paved and cleaned up the guys were very courteous and professional I would highly recommend them for any of your paving needs

We had a total loss house fire in June of We were anxious to rebuild and needed site work done as soon as possible When we found Morgan we were already skeptical about contractors We had been put through the ringer regardless of our experience Mike Morgan personally came to survey our site work and was professional and empathetic He gave us a reasonable, which was much lower than our others, and showed up every time scheduled We were very grateful to finally find a contractor that followed through with our requests during the time constraints we had I would be happy to recommend Morgan to anyone looking for site work excavation or paving

On May, 23, I paid Michael *** of the company $in cash to pave my driveway when they finished the job on that dayWhen the first rain came about a week later I noticed a 4-foot wide 1/inch deep puddle right in front of my garage doors and a bulging spot in the drivewayI called Frank *** at the company and he indicated they would send someone out to fix it and asked me to text a pictureOn June 2, I sent the pictureand on June 7th anotherHe stated they would definitely be out the next week to fix it and did not comeThey repeatedly over the next two and a half months said that they would come out to fix the driveway and failed to do soI was then given the owners phone number, Mike ***, by Frank and contacted himMike *** repeatedly indicated through texts and by phone that they would come and fix it and have failed to do so each timeI have since made calls and texts to Mike *** and as of August 18st he is no longer responding to my phone

Paid for driveway removal and replacement and told it would take a few hours Called day prior to job that they would remove driveway and pave the next dayShowed up 5:pm to start removalDid not finishWas told they would be back in the morningNext day no show or callLeft message with Sales repNo call till hours later, stating they were on the wayHad to leave work to give them access to homeOn arrival found damage to siding caused when they removed old drivewayWhen asphalt truck arrived it was damaged and leaked hot asphalt on to breaks causing it to be broken down in front of my housePaver ran out of gasTamping machine did not startWorkers yelling, cursing in middle of roadWas to have inches of asphalt base, much less then that at bottom of driveway when they ran out Broken truck still sits outside my home hours later Owner was paid by check

Review: We signed the pavement contract with Mr. [redacted] Morgan of Morgan Paving on 12/21/2012, paying him a deposit of $788 which he cashed on 12/27/2012. We have called Mr. [redacted] Morgan more than 50 times to do the paving job. Mr. Morgan never answered them except 2 times. He promised to come to start the work 2 times but never showed up and did not give any explanations. We have documentations on all these. Mr. Morgan gave us his home address at [redacted]. My neighbor, [redacted] and I were there at 8 PM on 9/16/2013 and found out it is his old address.

Review: The company installed a driveway in May of 2012. The asphalt driveway had some cracking that should be covered under the 2 year warranty. The vendor has failed to contact after 8 call attempts over one month and 2 emails.Desired Settlement: For the vendor to come out and repair the issue.

Review: Morgan Paving failed to complete our driveway expansion/re-pavement in a reasonable time frame. In all it took 7 months to complete this work when a 30 day or less, weather permitting estimate of completion was given. In the end, the results were well short of the expectations set and the owner, [redacted] Morgan concurred with our assessment and promised to mill and repave the driveway, asking that we give him 2 weeks to complete some other work. That was over 10 weeks ago and he has failed to either take or return our calls since that time.Desired Settlement: Either repair the job as promised and in a reasonable timeframe or refund a portion of our money so that we can get someone else to effect the needed repairs to this job. We withheld $2,000.00 from the final payment because we were told that the company would make this right, now we are seeking $3,000.00 in additional concessions to fund the additional efforts required to correct the issues.

Review: Morgan paving was contracted to do paving and brick work at my home in July 2012. The work was completed in August, 2012. The brick work is poorly finished, has an overall white color (the bricks are red), and is extremely unsightly. We contacted Morgan paving on multiple occasions, and even spoke with Mr. Morgan at our home about this. He insisted that he guarantees his work and that he would come back and remedy the problem. He has never come. we have continued to call, and now he does not return calls, or even take calls. We consider the job unfinished, and his promise to finish the job unmet. He has not fulfilled the terms of the contract, and has failed to honor his guarantee.Desired Settlement: That the job be completed, the brickwork cleaned and the problem causing the white stain corrected.

Review: In February 2013, the owner of Morgan Paving made an unsolicited call on my residence seeking to re-pave my driveway (which the company did to my satisfaction) so I have no complaint as far as the driveway is concerned. I also contracted with the company to have the sidewalk leading to my front door leveled and redone with color stone and brick, to include the stoop. The grout Morgan Paving used was grey in color and appropriately complimented the color stone, but two days after curing the grout crystallized and turned white. After I researched this issue, I learned that grout should cure at temperatures above 50 degrees as it is susceptible to crystallizing and turning white at lower temperatures (like it was in February 2013). The result is an unsightly and unprofessional stone paving job which has now detracted from the appearance of my residence. The stone was oyster in color with chocolate brick and now the white grout has bleed onto the stone and brick causing a fading appearance on the stones/bricks, which is very unsightly. Mr. [redacted] Morgan, the owner of Morgan Paving, is aware of this problem -- he stopped by a few days after the job was complete (in February) and said he'd come back and make things right but has been unresponsive to multiple calls to his business and personal cell phone. At this juncture, I have spoken to his wife, son, and Mr. Morgan himself (all work for the company), each time with a promise from them to stop by and correct his work. Needless to say, Mr. Morgan has not returned to complete the work.Desired Settlement: The contract advised that all material is guaranteed for 2 years. Mr. Morgan needs to return to my residence, make appropriate repairs ensuring a professional appearance of the work completed. This includes repairs so the grout does not turn white in color (it should be grey) and the stones and bricks are cleaned of any white residue, which has caused a fading appearance on that material. This problem is throughout the sidewalk and stoop .
