Morow's Masonry Restoration Reviews (2)

Review: We had wood steps going up into our backyard and we have a mole problem, they keep loosening the soil kicking it out onto the steps. Morrow's was contacted to look at the situation and they proposed putting in new concrete steps to replace the old wood steps. They pretty much put in concreted pavers, finished a block wall in the back of our house and put in a stone curb along the driveway. They did not put anything along the wood retaining wall which has exposed dirt at the stair level and we continue to have an issue with the moles kicking dirt out onto the steps. I was charged $2,500 to complete this work. I have called the owner multiple times asking him to come back and correct the open areas where the dirt is exposed. He keeps telling me that he will be out but he has not come to correct the problem. Also, on the curb that they put in along the driveway, they used sand as a base and the concrete has just crumbled away.Desired Settlement: I want them to come back and correct the area along the stairs where the dirt keeps coming out and I also want them to repair the curb along the driveway using the proper materials. To me, this is a very sloppy job which should not have cost me $2,500.

Review: Morow's Masonry & Restoration was hired to spot point my retaining wall based on their proposal of 7/10/2015. In that proposal they specified that the new mortar would be "tinted to match (the old) as close as possible". The job was performed on 8/7/2015 and the new mortar did not come close to matching the old in color as it was brown and the old was grey. I informed Morow of the quality issues via a phone call on or about 8/24/2015. Their represenative visited and said the color match would get better with age. I filed a written complaint with Morow on 9/18/2015 asking the owner to visit the job site and review options to obtain a better color match. Morow has not responded as of 9/29/2015.Desired Settlement: I would like the new, brown mortar removed and replaced with mortar that more closely matches the old mortar (gray).
