Review: We traveled over 900 miles to meet our family at a vacation rental at 545 Driftwood in Morro Bay to have a memorial service for our mother/grandmother. (August 3rd - 6th) To our dismay, the property was dirty, and in the case of the patio and downstairs furniture, unusable. There were dirty coffee cups in the cupboard, non-functioning espresso machine, two broken and unsafe dining room chairs, dirty and stained carpet in the dining area, dining table was dirty as were the placemats, unclean smelling bedding (even though it was washed The extra bedding was stained, dirty and unusable. It should be discarded for health reasons. The towels were were well worn. The garage was advertised as a recreation area. There was a broken chair turned upside down, a dirty sofa with tears in the cushions and throw pillows. One throw pillow was so dirty no one wanted to touch it. There were dead spiders and bugs and the carpet was stained, dirty and had not been vacuumed. The outside lights were burned out, which we replaced. The patio area might have been beautiful at one time, but had obviously been neglected as was the patio furniture was covered in dirt, bird droppings and debris. The bar-b-que was functional, but againdirty. The view of Morro Rock from the balcony was beautiful, but if you looked down, the neighbors yard was trashed. Additionaly, the neighbor did not hesitate to ask members of our group for extra change. On the up side, the bathrooms and kitchen area were clean. We requested a refund of our $155 cleaning deposit and $300 in rental fees; $100 per day for 3 days. [redacted], Property Manager, did refund most of our cleaning deposit ($150), but refused to refund a portion of the rental fees as requested. He stated since we stayed there, we should pay the full amount.Desired Settlement: We are requesting a $300 refund of rental fees as the property conditions were not as advertised, and portions of the property were totally not usable. We paid to use the entire property. We would also like the remaining $5 of our cleaning deposit refunded.
