Morrow Firewood & Hay

This business stated at time of order for hay that the hay was guaranteed not to have mold or foxtails, and it was a good hay, orchard grass. If it did, he will replace it. He also stated he doesn't deliver bottom bales. I ordered 200 bales of hay at the end of September, delivered over 4 days. The first 12 bales opened did not present a problem with mold or foxtails. But I noticed that one horse was dropping weight and another horse would not eat. I called my Vet to check out the horses. 2 days later, another horse acted sore in the mouth. This last horse is not a picky eater and because he left his hay, I inspected it further. The hay was infested with foxtails. I immediately removed the hay and kept it for the supplier to inspect it. I then opened two more bales and they were infested with foxtails. I requested he come out to inspect the hay. He kept denying that this hay had foxtails. He did come out on Nov. 1 to inspect the hay and at first denied it was foxtails, then later admitted they were. At the time he arrived we opened another bale and it had foxtails in it too. I told him I would like my money back on the bales that were infested. He could take these bales and sell them for cow hay. It was also discovered that he did deliver a bottom bale that had dirt & moisture in it on one side. He said it wasn't worth it to him. My husband asked him if he cares about his reputation and he did not answer, but drove off. After the supplier left,I have had this hay inspected by another neighbor that bought hay from him, and he told me that this is first cutting hay, goat hay or cow hay, not horse hay. The hay delivered to my neighbor was good orchard grass. I feel that he has not acted in good faith to remedy this situation. The day before he came out he had told me that if there is a problem he would fix it. I would rather he refund me for any bales that are infested with foxtail or mold, and he take these bales back.
