I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me
Regards,
*** ***

I sent all theses documents into [redacted] that she is requesting.  As of today I still haven't received any correspondence in regards to a payoff on the balance from the lien holder.

Our review and investigation of complaint #[redacted] is complete. We have noted specific concerns regarding this complaint. - We suggest that [redacted] review the loan documents that he signed at the dealership where he purchased his car ([redacted] Buick). Columbus Finance Inc. purchased the...

loan contract from this dealership. The customers claim that the interest rate is 100% is pure fabrication. The actual interest rate on the contract we purchased from [redacted] Buick is in fact 24% APR.- [redacted]’s loan is in default. Columbus Finance will pursue every legal remedy under Ohio law to recover the debt that Mr. [redacted] owes.It is our hope that [redacted] elects to pay his account current immediately and abide by his contractual obligations going forward.

Thank you for your recent letter regarding [redacted] [redacted].  Our review and investigation of case #[redacted] is complete.  We have noted specific concerns regarding this complaint. 1.)   [redacted] purchased a 2013 Kia Optima along with various ancillary...

products from Bobb Automotive on 11/13/15. The customer should refer to the documents that she signed at Bobb Automotive to understand her contractual obligations, including repayment and default, as well as the products she elected to buy from the dealership.  Columbus Finance provided financing for her purchase. 2.)   On 04/03/2018 at 12:58pm we were notified via a voice mail message from someone identifying herself as the customer that the collateral was totaled. We attempted numerous times to return the call, but whoever answered the phone would pick up and then hang up or disconnect.  We immediately began researching to determine if the customer had auto insurance and any ancillary products such as GAP.  From there, our practice is to contact those companies since often times customers are not aware of their responsibilities toward those type products.  We are not required to do this but find that not only is this practice a kind form of customer service, it is also often a way for us to minimize our potential for loss. 3.)   On 04/06/2017 at 12:26pm we were notified by the primary insurer, Allstate, that they were paying $7588.00 on the total loss. 4.)   On 04/12/2017 at 2:17pm & 3:30pm, on 04/16/2018 at 1:59pm, 04/23/2018 at 1:20pm, 04/24/2018 at 2:54pm, 05/07/2018 at 1:45pm, we followed up with the GAP Company on the customer’s behalf.  Again, none of which were we required to do. 5.)   On 05/30/2018 at 12:30pm, we received $2852.24 from the GAP Company. 6.)   If [redacted] is dissatisfied with the ancillary products she purchased from Bobb Automotive, we advise that she reach out to either the dealership, or the vendor directly.  It is disappointing to hear that we are receiving a compliant for going above and beyond what we as the lender are required to do. 7.)   As of 06/15/2018, the current pay off on [redacted]’s loan is $2358.32.  The account is 53 days past due. We again suggest that the customer review her loan documents to understand her contractual obligations, including repayment and default.  It is our hope that [redacted] elects to remedy this situation immediately.

For your information, we have satisfied the Ohio Attorney General office regarding this matter. Please see page two of the attached package that you sent us via US mail on 01/23/2018. Specifically the item marked in red.Mr. [redacted] has retained an attorney.  At this time, Columbus Finance Inc. considers this a legal matter and will not comment further except through his legal counsel.Ken Z[redacted]Vice PresidentColumbus Finance Inc.3050 East Main StreetColumbus, OH 43209Phone: ###-###-####Fax: ###-###-####www.columbusfinance.com
