Distinctive is the absolute worst rental company I have had the pleasure of doing business withYou have to submit a maintenance request 3-times before anybody gets in contact with you, and then you can expect an additional to weeks until a maintenance man shows up, almost always unannounced on a random date, to fixed the problemI have currently had a request open since March to fix a broken garbage disposal that is leaking under my kitchen sinkI've told the company multiple times of the issueThey assure me my job is on the list each time, but yet here we are, half way through May, and I still have a broken garbage disposalThe company is also trying to charge me for my rent twice in one month, when I have the receipts proving paid my rent and have not been late or missed one payment in the past If you call the office, make sure you get everything out in that phone call because they WILL NOT call you backCalled two weeks ago about the current rent dispute, was told they would call me back, and didn't hear from them until I received an email saying I still owed distinctive moneyThey didn't call me back for two weeks and decided to send me an email instead, shows how much they value their tenantsDistinctive Rental Properties of Lafayette Indiana is a terrible rental company and I advise any future tenant thinking about renting from them to stay away

This lease ended May 31, 2015.  State law states that a landlord has 45 days to process a security deposit refund.  The date due would have been July 15, 2015.  The refund was mailed on July 6, 2015 as the former tenant was informed.  He was also informed that if it did not reach...

him within a week (via United States Postal Service) that he should contact our office.  Allowing one day to receive the refund via USPS is unreasonable.
