Most Wanted Diesel's Reviews (%countItem)

After almost 7 months of back and forth with ***, Jayson, and then finally his wife. I received back my truck and drove home, with almost no breaks and without any gauages, I arrived home to discover the truck leaking fuel from what I believed were fuel lines that had broken. Mind you, this was after sinking about 16-18K into this truck and a 7 month wait, the last thing you expected was a problem upon a 30 minute drive home.
I was luckily able to get the truck picked up the next day by a diesel shop a bit further from home but turned out to be well worth the extra cost, wait, and drive.
This shop (***) picked up my truck within the hour of me calling them, and by that evening had my prognosis om the leak (fuel lines had wrong washers, fuel sending unit not tightened correctly, fuel lines installed incorrectly or improperly) with as well some further terrible news that would end up costing me almost another $8000. Essentially this mechanic had to redo and correct the job *** and Jayson had done, but mind you they did it in 2 weeks instead of 7 months.

Breaks were rusted and corroded due to sitting for a long period of time
1-2 break calipers were in similar shape (rear)
Break lines incorrectly installed/damaged
Break line washers incorrect
Sending unit installed incorrectly thus giving an engine light
Guages would not work because when they lowered the truck they pitched some wires, causing the gauges to not work and flash lights
Belts on truck were in terrible shape (he was informed to change anything that would potentially go on the truck)
Old parts were used for engine rebuild, full price was paid for. EA engine front pan was leaking (original reason truck was brought in) paid for a new pan ($700+labor) he simply grinded down the old one and reinstalled.

The list goes on. Avoid this guy at all costs, he's nothing but a ticking time bomb and I hope he get shut down, because I know I'm not the only one.

Desired Outcome

Refund I would like a refund of $10,000, as it will cover the expenses I had to make to correct the work he did, as well as includes the cost for parts/labor he charged me for that he failed to do or did incorrectly yet charged me full price.

Contact Name and Title: Tom W, owner

We warranty our work and that warranty is voided when you bring it to another shop, we have to be given the chance to rectify the situation. He was suppose to come back so we could fix the issues he said he was having which at the time was only a fuel leak to which he diagnosed himself. After making an appointment with him through text. We waited for him to come down the next day and he never showed up or responded when we asked if he was still coming. We have numerous text messages to prove this. Also We would like to make it clear we never touched the fuel sending unit or any surrounding line other than to connect it back to the engine and we never touched the brakes that was not what we were hired for. However in his final invoice we stated his brakes needed to be done soon as because they were bad. We were hired for top end work and the services received at the other shop was primarily lower end. He also did not allow us time to test drive the vehicle before he took it. All of which he was fully aware of. Including any lights that remained on. Any top end issues would have have been taken care of while he waited had he showed up. We can provide any documentation that is needed to put this to rest.

Customer Response • Apr 06, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
If the vehicle was failed to be test driven prior to delivery to the customer, shame on the establishment after stating they would be "test driving it in an hour and the truck is driving nicely". Following that, of course the truck was taken to another shop, as recommended by a attorney who worried the work may be done poorly after some confrontations we had regarding the job.
Neither I or my family could continue to afford renting vehicles and borrowing them in order for *** W to diagnose the issues and fix them. A few hours worth of work would simply turn into days of work and thats unacceptable.
Additionally in response to the brakes and fuel sending unit, the fuel sending unit was allegedly via phone call and stated to have been tested and confirmed to possibly be the issue as to why the truck was not receiving fuel. After several days, Tom calls to inform he now believes it is the fuel pump that sits in the back of the engine. Regardless of whether it was changed or not, Tom incorrectly installed the fuel sending unit causing a leak. Following that, the brakes and a couple calipers had to be changed not due to normal wear but instead because they had begun to seize together with rust due to the amount of time the frame/tires sat in the parking lot of his shop.

Also, I see no comment in regards to the front engine pan you charged me for and neglected to change? I paid $734.00 for my old cover to be grinded down and have a new washer be put on?

I do not accept this response, as per usual the owners take away any and all blame from themselves.

Please review the pictures presented, including all receipts and pictures of work. It is almost impossible for Most Wanted Diesel not to have had a hand in what occurred when literally the entire truck was in pieces.

Most Wanted Diesel's Response • Apr 08, 2020

The attached text message confirms we reached out to *** when we heard he was unhappy and he agreed to bring the vehicle in. But he never showed up.

As to the print out he attached, we have the following responses:
1- He did not have his truck towed away after paying for it; he drove it away. He has this backwards - the vehicle was towed to us and was not roadworthy.
2- The fuel lines cannot be installed wrong, there is only one way to install them.
3- As to timing, *** dropped off the truck before going to Somalia with no deposit. So we left it on the lot until he provided the deposit which was not until last October. At that point we put in on the list to be serviced. Many of the problems with the vehicle were due to a lack of maintenance. We broke our invoices down so he knew exactly what we did and what he was charged for. The photos he posted are progress photos, and in fact one of those photos shows the new heads were put on and working fine.
4- We tested the sending unit via the fuel line ends which are located at the engine.
5 -He never asked us to do brake work even though we told them his brakes were bad.
6 - The oil pan was brand new and was not on the TMS invoice confirming they did not replace it.
7- We were also not asked to do the tie rods and steering parts. He told us he didn't have the money to pay for them. The parts he lists had to be replaced to do the rod and main bearing but as stated, we were not asked to do that either.

We would have taken care of his complaints or addressed some of the items he told us not to do but as the attached text message shows, despite making time on a Saturday to meet him he didn't show up.

At all times, ***'s attitude was just unacceptable. He complained that he should not have to pay for a rental car so we let him borrow one of our vehicles. When that overheated, we didn't have another one to offer him. He was also nasty to our mechanic and often sent his parents down to harass us while we were still working on the vehicle.

We offered to meet him and address his complaints but if he declined that offer, there is nothing we can do about it. We certainly are not going to reimburse him for work he had done elsewhere which we were never asked to do.
