I called SpareFoot to find a short term storage solutionThey did find something close byI needed someone to pick up the items from my girlfriends house and move them to storageThe guy on the phone ensured me that that would happenI even asked a second time about picking up the boxed up items and moving them to storage
When it came close to the date of pickup there was absolutely no record of any pickup scheduled
All they really did for me was to find a location but did NOTHING else as far as the move like they promisedWe ended up having to Pay someone to pick up and transfer the items to storageWhen my girlfriend called to confirm date of pickup, which was over the Labor Day weekend, she was told by both SpareFoot and the storage location that there was no reservationShe was referred to Bellhops, a partner company of SpareFoot and they were able to pick up her items but they were extremely expensive and she could have hired a local company to do it with a great reputation and much lower priceWhen the storage location was called to confirm, they had no record of the reservationI am extremely disappointed in this serviceI specifically asked numerous times while I was making the reservation with SpareFoot if 1) will there be pickup of the items at my girlfriends house, 2) will a storage location be confirmed and 3) do I need to do anything else to ensure this will happen? I was told everything was taken care of and not to worryIf my girlfriend hadn't called to confirm, NOTHING would have been done
Bottom line: I WILL NEVER USE OR REFER THIS SERVICE TO ANYONESpareFoot dropped the ball on every single detail of this move

I called the number, thinking I was getting the storage facility directlyThe person who answered the phone did not clarify that they are a 'work for many storage unit companies'Once this was clear, they found a local storage unit and sent me a reservation on emailI printed this out, went to the storage facility and they said that they did not have this spot and could not honor the reservationI have wasted one week waiting while I could have been looking for another storage unitNOT pleased with this customer service and very aggrevated with results

The Sparefoot website made it appear as if the phone number listed under the storage facility was the phone number of the actual storage facility, but when I called, it connected me to Sparefoot, which felt VERY misleadingIn fact, they didn't even identify themselves as Sparefoot, but instead just answered the phone saying, "storage," which made me think I was talking to the actual facilityThen the person on the phone tried to push CubeSmart on me, telling me about all these discounts, which, when I called Cubesmart, did not existCubesmart was significantly more expensive than the original storage facility that I had been trying to contact in the first placeThe whole process felt very deceptive and misleading

BAIT AND SWITCH! The team here lies a lotSparefoot said the storage center would waive the $fee with student id, but the Storage Fox in Queens, NY refusedThe 5' 8' storage unit would not fit a queen mattress though it should by industry standards - it is 2" smaller than specifiedThe crew there said queen mattress is 6' and never fits 5xThat was a lieThey charged me twice as much that Sparefoot quoted me for a slightly larger unit and refused to refund my money to go elsewhere when I didn't want it I had not moved my stuff inOnce you sign you have no optionsBeware!! The signs say hour access - that isn't true either

I was looking for storageI noticed that I could get tripple AAA Discount on a particular storage center by using Selfstorage.com (SPAREFOOT) I called the number spoke to *** *** basically signed me upI went to storage center of whom had my info from SPAREFOOT but they didn't know how to do the free one monthI called on 3/22/to find out how I would get my FREE gift CARD of$which was included in the package Then the people at Sparefoot kept putting me on hold, transferring me to main systemFinally I asked to speak to supervisor but spoke to *** Then she said she would take down my infoI asked again to speak to mgr and they put *** on the lineOf whom I explained that the company that I went to did not understand how to do the paperwork and they needed to CALL to verify that I signed up so that I would get my $gift cardI had been trying to explain and find out info but NONE of the workers would listen They didn't understand that the people at th

Upon agreeing to rent storage place (locally) through Sparefoot, they offered me a $*** gift card as a new customer The did send me an email with *** information I did not open it until roughly a week-days later when I was going to actually activaI te and use it When I tried to activate through ***, I was told that it had already been redeemed Up to this point I hadn't even opened the email!! I contacted both Sparefoot and *** to see what the problem was *** said that the activation code was in fact used and the money gone and they could not see by whom but did verify that it was not through MY *** account I called Sparefoot and gave them the whole story I was basically called a liar and they doubted my story Apparently my email had been hacked They didn't care and wasn't going to do anything about it!!!! Many phone calls to customer service and was told..."too bad"

Pushy to get a reservation, says only spot left when there are manyNot a trustworthy company

Sparefoot is a partner company with Penske truck rentals and was suggested to me through Penske's military call center which specifically assist active and veteran members of the U.Smilitary and their families with do-it-yourself moves1-844-4TROOPS (1-844-487-6677)When I contacted Sparefoot, they made a reservation for me at Gold Vault Storage in Radcliff, KY for November 17, The 17th of November is a Saturday, so I specifically asked for a storage unit that would be open on the weekend for our arrival at 1:I was promptly assured that I could arrive at 1:on Saturday, November 17, and the office would be open for me to sign for my unit and unload to secure my belongingsI also called again that morning on November 17th to further ensure that the office at the location would be open and again I was assured that it would be open till p.mThe whole dilemma took place when I pulled up to Gold Vault on 11/at 1:p.mand was greeted by the office manager as sh

Call the storage or moving company after you speak with them because the chances are they didn't tell you the fees, details of specials or services available from the company you actually have a reservation withThey might not even know the addressSave yourself some trouble and do a simple google search for local storage/movers and find one in the town you need rather than use their service
