Review: Booked a room via Priceline.com at the Motel 22. Upon arrival, we were in the room for a total of 5-10 minutes before we were back on the phone with Priceline.com complaining about how horrible the room was. There were bugs in the window sills (possibly fleas), the "shower" was not clean, and the smell inside the room was so bad that my wife and I both were nauseated within minutes. The person that showed us the room was in there for about 1 minute and quickly exited the room without really showing us much. If I would have seen this room BEFORE we paid, I would have NEVER paid a cent. This was by far the worst motel I have ever stayed in! The management will not refund me, and Priceline says it is not their fault. Honestly, I do not blame Priceline.com because the pictures they were given from Motel 22 show a nice place to stay. These pictures show CLEAR misrepresentation once you see the actual rooms itself. Then I tried to get a refund via PayPal since I used my Paypal Debit Card. I was told that the manager told PayPal that I accepted the room in the condition it was in and that we were there for hours. I have the receipt from the NEXT motel we booked (Comfort Inn, Huntingdon, PA) not even 40 minutes later, and 20 of those minutes were travel minutes. How could we have been there for 3 hours when we were at Comfort Inn within 40 minutes? This obviously got my chargeback denied. I am trying to reopen the case with PayPal and plan on getting my attorney involved if this refund of $124.48 is not processed back to me. I refuse to pay for a room that is so unsanitary that both my wife and I felt ill within minutes. This is a horrible business and very rude customer service.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund in FULL in the amount of $124.48 for the unsanitary and misrepresented room we stayed in at Motel 22. I have a receipt from the worker who stated that he gave me a refund for half of the amount, but I have my PayPal statement to prove that we never got a cent back from them. He probably refunded our money to somebody else. I also have a statement from PayPal proving that they never sent us a refund.

This is in reference to ID [redacted] I am the owner of Motel 22 where a guest Mr. [redacted] had booked a room for two nights stay (7/30 to 8/1). I reviewed the complaint the guest has made against Motel 22.

First our rooms at Motel 22 are clean and sanitary. The rooms are always cleaned after a guest leaves. The sheets changed on the bed(s) and new clean sheets are put on, carpet is vacuumed, furniture wiped, polished and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized. New towel and new amenities are put in the bath rooms.

As for the guest complain, he booked a room for two nights stay. He did arrive at the motel, and stayed for few hours before he decided to leave. It is our policy, stated very clearly that when a room is booked guest has option to cancel without any charges or penalty, prior to 3 PM on the arrival date. Also if the guest found the room that was given to him, not acceptable he could have spoken to the manager and the manager would have given him another room. The guest did not attempt to do this and left the motel and asked for full refund. We did refund the guest for one day but cannot refund the full amount as he did stay and use the room.
