Mothers Window Tint Reviews (23)

On August 1, brought my son's car to this location for window tinting and install of new speakers They did a HORRIBLE job of tinting the back window There were huge bubbles plus a chunk of the tinting was missing They had the car ALL day and still couldn't get the job done correctly Told me to take it home and that in a few days when it dried out it would probably be okay It wasn't of course I later learned they had a new trainee trying to do it Took the car back and they re-tinted it Working with the car doors open ALL day caused the battery to die and we had to buy a new battery for the car Mother's refuses to take responsibility And the car speakers that were initially removed and placed in the back seat were then stolen from the back seat when we took the car back to the tint job Interestingly, Troy, the prior manager at the location when it was originally tinted knew he was leaving his position the day that they messed it up so bad but of course didn't tell me that He didn't want to deal with it so told me to come back in days and when I showed up there was a new manager who didn't know anything about it I explained it to him, he rolled his eyes and said "great, he left this problem for me to deal with." He continued to be very difficult to deal with and downright rude and condescending I even took this up to corporate office and they still refuse to do anything about it and have given me the run-around for over a month My recommendation: STAY AWAY I've wasted hours and hours of time on this - from the original tinting/speaker install where the car was there hours, to taking the car back for re-tinting and it was there for hours, to having to get roadside assistance for the dead battery, having battery replaced, going back in person to the store to talk to the manager about these issues, to calling corporate twice to explain the situation It's just not worth it!! There are too many great businesses out there who know how to treat their customers to waste your time with a company like this!

when a customer erroneously blames a business for issues regarding their car rarely is the customer going to admit it even after being confronted with the facts. Such is the case with this used car recently purchased by the customer that had unknown (certainly to us) preexisting electrical... problems. Due to the preexisting electrical problem our security equipment would not function. A full refund was made. The customer though was quickly able to identify the problem with their car and took it toa car dealer who verified neither the equipment nor the Plug and Play installation as the source or cause of the problem. This was verified by a manufacturer's representative. Clearly no one wants to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of a problem they didn't cause and we are no different.

I am rejecting this response because: The manager told me his name was ***. Either he gave me an alias, he has since resigned, or the respondent is not
being truthful. In any case, this appears to be an attempt to obfuscate the truth. My invoice number from Mother's Window Tint is *** and was paid by my credit card Ref # ***. This person is intentionally trying to avoid his responsibility. This is a nonresponse. He owes me $for the damage his installer did to my car as previously described

It is our understanding this customer's vehicle is in ColoradoWe do not have company service technicians outside of Hays, Bexar and Travis counties in TexasHowever, our store personnel are attempting to assist the customer via the USPS. Clarification regarding the manufacturer's
warranty is in orderThis consumer product, like millions of other consumer products, is covered only by the written manufacturer's warranty. Mother's Window Tint is bound to provide all warranty services specified by the written dealer agreement but only during the term of the agreementManufacturer's cancel agreements, go out of business, change the terms of dealer warranty agreements and when that happens consumers want to blame someone and the retailer is the usual target. No dealer agreement includes labor charges the consumer may be responsible for, switching brands at the expense of the manufacturer or Mother's Window Tint. When one of our customers returns with a product that no longer has the support of the manufacturer's warranty for any reason we always will do what we can but we will not assume the expenses related to the ownership or use of the product. All of the products sold at Mother's Window Tint, including this customer's purchase, are brand itemsElectronic parts such as alarms, as a general rule, do not have serial numbers like a VIN. In closing, while we are assisting this customer, ultimately the warranty of all products is the responsibility of the manufacturerIf the manufacturer stops providing warranty service through the retailer for any reason it is the fault of the manufacturer not the retailer

Mother's Window tint cut and mailed a check to Mr. [redacted] on april 10, 2014.
Our check number was  2849, and cleared our bank on April 15, 2014.
Frost National Bank reference number [redacted].
the amount of the check was $206.62.

In response to complaint [redacted]
Mr. [redacted] states he has spent $5000 on services and products at our location. This amount may be a historical figure over the 30 years we have been in...

business at that location but it does not reflect an accurate picture of this complaint.
The issue regarding the GPS service provided by a third party who is not under our control. This is much like buying a phone and then being upset by the service at AT&T and blaming the guy who sold you the phone.
Six appointments for service and having to wait. Clearly service was provided but the issue of having to wait is one that cannot be controlled at our store any more than at a doctor's office. We always strive to be on time and apolgize if we delayed delivering services after the sale.
If any customer purchases any brand of after market car stereo the use of the steering wheel controls are rendered moot since the mid 1990's. Mr. [redacted] decided not to purchase the optional interface to restore those functions.
We will happily reissue owner's manuals for any product purchased at our store in either 2013 or 2014 to Mr. [redacted].
Amplifier purchased was matched to stereo system properly. We will offer to have this inspected at one of our stores to verify and if needed make any corrections.
System did deliver the promised performance and again we will verify at any of our stores and make any corrections needed under the terms of the written warranties.
The final issue is that of a refund. We will not make any refunds.

This was resolved before the complaint arrived at our office and has been settled satisfactorily.

The gentlemen's comments are duly noted.

On August 1, 2016 brought my son's car to this location for window tinting and install of new speakers. They did a HORRIBLE job of tinting the back window. There were huge bubbles plus a chunk of the tinting was missing. They had the car ALL day and still couldn't get the job done correctly. Told me to take it home and that in a few days when it dried out it would probably be okay. It wasn't of course. I later learned they had a new trainee trying to do it. Took the car back and they re-tinted it. Working with the car doors open ALL day caused the battery to die and we had to buy a new battery for the car. Mother's refuses to take responsibility. And the car speakers that were initially removed and placed in the back seat were then stolen from the back seat when we took the car back to re-do the tint job. Interestingly, Troy, the prior manager at the location when it was originally tinted knew he was leaving his position the day that they messed it up so bad but of course didn't tell me that. He didn't want to deal with it so told me to come back in 3 days and when I showed up there was a new manager who didn't know anything about it. I explained it to him, he rolled his eyes and said "great, he left this problem for me to deal with." He continued to be very difficult to deal with and downright rude and condescending. I even took this up to corporate office and they still refuse to do anything about it and have given me the run-around for over a month.
My recommendation: STAY AWAY. I've wasted hours and hours of time on this - from the original tinting/speaker install where the car was there 10 hours, to taking the car back for re-tinting and it was there for hours, to having to get roadside assistance for the dead battery, having battery replaced, going back in person to the store to talk to the manager about these issues, to calling corporate twice to explain the situation. It's just not worth it!! There are too many great businesses out there who know how to treat their customers to waste your time with a company like this!

Mr. [redacted] 16 year old starter on his [redacted] Altima needed to be replaced and it had nothing to do with having a remote control alarm installed. Code Alarm has produced OEM alarms for [redacted] and 25 other vehicle manufacturers such...

as Honda, GM, Ford etc. Their engineers design products and software that work. Regarding the installation: Our staff for more than 16 years have installed remote starts every day. When the remote start is demo started for the customer if it is hooked up wrong as this gentleman asserts it will not start the car and simultaneously it will throw a code which means the dash panel light CHECK ENGINE will illuminate. Neither of these things happened. The mechanic who replaced the starter also disconnected and removed the perfectly functioning remote start so Mr. [redacted] disingenuously wants someone else to pay for his predicament.

a refund has been made and payment for damages was made.
