Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/17) */
Patient is uninsured$is a deposit is collected a time of service for the facility charge
Patient was issued refund for $ (self pay/prompt payment discount) on November 11,
Patient signed the Conditions of Admission and
or Registration - Physicians are independent contractor and patient will receive a separate bill
Flyer is located at registration desk explaining Physicians are independent contractors
Poster is located in waiting room, and treatment rooms explaining Physician are independent contractors
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/11/19) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Terra Linda Urgent Care's exposes their fundamental contempt for patients, and lack of interest in treating urgent care patients fairly
"Patient is uninsured." An entirely irrelevant opening, unless TLUC's strategy is to fleece insurance companies with non-transparent, exorbitant fees
I have receive no $refund, at least not yetSo apparently TLUC are far more efficient at sending out excessive, non-transparent bills, compared with refunds
"Patient signed...", "Flyer posted...", "Poster located..."Plus the 3rd option on their billing answering system addresses the question "Why have I received another bill?"
TLUC clearly recognize the downstream problems of their lack of transparency at the time that patients requiring urgent care enter their officeYet they continue to mislead new patientsThey could easily declare: "You will pay for the room: $You will then pay an independent contractor $1,per hour, plus any additional expenses." (My extrapolation of apparent contractor fees, based on $fee for roughly min consultation.)
Instead they mislead patients in need of care, and then later hide behind some legal design of flyers and posters
The 2nd bill that I received simply states: "Outpatient visit - $213"If that was a flat fee known in advance, why not be upfront and honest on the day of the visit? Afraid of losing an opportunity to fleece an insurer or self-insured patient? If this is in fact some unpredictable fee-for-service, then please send me an itemized bill to explain this full amountFor example "min consultation by independent contractor at rate of $1,per hour."
If TLUC are proud of their services and transparency, then such a clear, itemized bill that holds up to ethical standards required for health care is possible
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2015/12/08) */
Tera Linda made the following claim to Revdex.com on Nov17, 2015, which looks increasingly with each passing *** was issued refund for $ (self pay/prompt payment discount) on November 11,2015."
Tera Linda claim they issued a partial refund on Nov11, 2015, for my prompt payment of $for my outpatient visit
Today is Nov27, 2015, more than weeks since the date that Tera Linda claim to have completed this partial refund
In fact, I have received no such refund either directly to the credit card I used for this initial payment of $200, or in the mail
Therefore this claim seems and disingenuous
