I was in a bad credit situation when I came across The Approval Store. The man who dealt with my purchase name is Anthony he works at the Ajax Ontario location.

Anthony took advantage of my lack of knowledge in financing a vehicle. He got me approved for a 2017 vehicle that was still fairly new, however he locked me into a contract that landed me in negative equity. I am locked into a term of 84 months paying $25,000 for a car that's market value at the time was only worth $16,000. He also did not close the deal properly as the documents were not properly signed before submitting them. He submitted paperwork with out my signature or consent. He also added on extra things such as an extended warranty which was never agreed upon.

Fortunately I was able to spot this *** and contacted the owner who refused to do anything about it. So I then got into contact with OMVIC whom assisted me on how to proceed. Essentially I recieved my money for the warranty back, but was still locked into a very *** deal, which til this day I am still dealing with.

The WORST part about it all is, I didnt even get to see the car that I purchased. He claimed it was being brought over from a different location. Fast forward a week later and several run arounds, and the owner having to give me a rental to get around in for the time period of waiting. I finally recieve my car as it was personally driven and dropped of to me by Anthony himself at my place of work!

***

*** because of them I wont ever trust another car dealer again.

Good day Cherelle,

Sorry to hear of this. However you speaking this way of my business is not needed. We have served way more happy clients than few unhappy ones. There will always be few unhappy clients in any business type.
You were given documents to review and sign and you did. Once submitted to the banks and taken delivery it can not be changed. Thats standard for any contract in Ontario.
Its unfortunate you did not review your contract and discuss these concerns then. Most vehicles deappreciate which causes negative equity. My first car *** I lost $6000 when I resold it after a year.
Now I do not know the details of what you and Anthony agreed on, but you did sign the documents and took delivery of the vehicle which are all optional at that point.
But do not speak this way of us now because you decided to read the contracts now, and those contracts are normal and fairly written since they are from the Lenders or Banks themselves! They approve you based on your credit, not us!
Now with that being said, please email me with your contact details and ill gladly try to assist you as best as I can, ***@approvalstore.ca.

On Wednesday March 14th, 2018 my spouse visited the *** located in Ajax, Ontario. At that time he was pressured into verbally agreeing to buy a car from the location. He submitted information and a $500 deposit. We had a co-singer who signed paperwork but since the car was going to be in my name and I was not present I never signed anything.

On Friday March 16th, 2018 without my knowledge my co-signer backed out of the deal, I found out when the *** called me. I still hadn't signed anything so at that time I told them I would prefer to have a refund of the deposit.

Since Friday March 16th I have spoken to 4-5 different people who have all given me the run around and tried to prevent me from going somewhere else. While I respect their efforts I have already gotten a vehicle somewhere else. I really just want a refund on the deposit I paid. While I understand there are penalties for backing out of a contract, I hadn't signed or agreed to anything; therefore I want my $500.00 deposit back. I would be more than happy to provide any information needed for the co-signer to be held responsible for her actions.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $500 deposit

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
yes, I accept this resolution, I will email the address given to provide the proper mailing address. Thank You.

Plainly was told over the phone that I was pre approved and to come into speak with ***. When I arrived they had me fill out a application and asjed for personal bank info and proof of income and drivers licence. When taken into the room by ***. Was questioned and made to feel degraded by my having to be on ODSP and that my credit has gone to *** due to my income level. When I was told he woukd nèed more time I asked for my photo copies of my peraonal info back. I also was told over the phone that I could still be approved for my budget of 200 to 250 per month max. *** bluntly stated no to that. Then went through my credit file as if I owed him an explanation to what happened to my credit. He was smug very arrogant and disrespectful. Clwarly has no understanding as to qhat life has in store for those who do suffer loss of income and a subject to the graces of a life of Disability

Desired Outcome

I would like to feel as I can come into a dealership and even though i have credit problems and a low income i can still be treated as a person whi is wanting to make a purchase through there store. I could have gone anywhere to be disrespected and labled as a low income disabled peraon. But this actually bothers me coming from a place that says they pride themselves on helping people in my situation find a new car.

Motor City Auto Sales Response • Apr 12, 2018

Good Day ***,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I do apologise on behalf of our employee's behavior towards your personal income and credit situation. I will use this as an example to make sure my other employee's do not make the same mistake. Again sorry for the inconvenience.

I was in a bad credit position, needed help buying a car told the dealer what I was looking for, I received the size of vehicle I was looking for but was told a different purchase price when it was time to sign the paperwork the price was updated by $5000, I took the car anyway and knew I was being ripped off was told I would receive cash back after the finance went through and didn't receive any cash back at all ever and I am currently still paying for the car which has no value!!

This complaint is in regards to a purchased vehicle for a 2103 *** from the Approval Store back in 2014 September. The reason I am moving forward with this now is that we tried in the past to deal with it and had no luck.
An episode of *** triggered us to look into this again. In hearing a commercial on *** for loans up to $5000, we decided to go and see the approval store to help us. We went in and met with ***. He discussed with us an option to lower our interest rate for our current van so we went ahead and done a proposal to see how it looked. He showed us the payment bi-weekly and it was just a little higher that our current payment. Our current interest rate was 28%. When I received the invoice, I was confused. I asked what was the value of the van, he would not disclose, I asked what was the value of the trade in, he did not disclose, he said it was mixed in with the price. Roughly around $8,000 which is no where to be seen. I had traded in a 2008 *** which was worth about $8000. I spend that last few years looking for where the van trade in value was. I could not locate it. The area is blank on my invoice. I also did not ask for any extra warranty and I see an extra charge of $2100 on the invoice. I took this deal because the interest rate was lower and that I can come in and trade in the vehicle at a later time lowering the interest rate again which is what was said to me.
He also provided me with $4000 cash from the loan.

I have taken this to *** and they said that we have been wronged but they could not do anything about it. I feel that *** works on the dealerships behalf and not the client.

Issues

1. The person named on the invoice is not the person that sold me the car. *** sold me the car but *** was the salesperson.
2. The van is a base model and on the paperwork it says *** model.
3. The cost of the current vehicle was not disclosed.
4. The cost of the trade in was not disclosed.
5. There is no trade in value on my invoice.
6. In meeting with ***, they showed me an overwritten document with a forged initial which I did not sign. Including information for negative equity.
7. We have not received a copy of the Trade In Vehicle Disclosure at the time of sale. I had to request it.
8. The invoice states 84 payments of $323.87 Biweekly. This calculates to $27,205.08 which is lower than the invoice states.

We have been majorly wronged and due to this we are now in very high interest loans and no banks are helping us. We need some help please.

Desired Outcome

I am looking to be able to sell the current vehicle at this time, have my trade in value paid out to me and I complete the remainder of the loan which is to be refinanced more effectively at a lower rate. Reason being is that the van has 140,000kms and is now worth $11,000. The value will go lower as time goes and it will not be worth anything. This way, I can decrease the loan a great deal as well as have the loan paid so this is in the past. I am not able to sell the van at this time as it is on a lein. I can then move forward and make a wiser decision.

We purchased a 2006 *** ridgeline as is condition. We drove it home and dropped it to be safetied. The ignition went first, they then said the rrame was rotten and transmission was done. It cannot be fixed and was told to walk away. We paid $6500 plus tax. I have called twice this week and asked to speak to the manager with no return calls.

Desired Outcome

$6500 plus tax

Motor City Auto Sales Response • Apr 12, 2018

Good day,

Spoke to *** regarding this matter. The vehicle was sold to customer AS IS condition. AS IS condition by *** states "..the vehicle may not be in roadworthy condition..." which was acknowledged by the customer. Customer then purchased it after inspecting the vehicle with knowledge it was an AS IS deal and not in road worth condition.
Because it was purchased AS IS, we are unable to provide any assistance unfortunately. The price sold at, reflects the condition of the vehicle not being safety.

Thanks

Customer Response • Apr 12, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As stated to this company, I feel if any vehicle is sold from them as is there is liable to be an accident on them or even death. Three separate vehicle inspection companies quoted " selling as is does not include frame, and they were very aware how unsafe it was as up on a lift was obvious to anyone with a mechanic background. They would not have taken it on a trade without looking at it." The frame was not reliable enough and still at a $6300 loss sent my family onto the 401 where it could have resulted in an accident. I am out the money and a vehicle because of their ignorance. Some compensation and refund is expected.

Motor City Auto Sales Response • Apr 16, 2018

Good day,

Again we are sorry you experienced this situation. We did not send anyone on the 401. We sold it to you AS IS. Its your responsibility to have it safety and put on the 401. That's why it was sold AS IS. If we did the safety we would be compensating for the issues you are having but we did not. The vehicle was driveable when we took it on trade and so we listed it online cheap for a quick sale. So once again sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience you are having.

September 7,2017,

I got an appointment with this car dealer through *** After going through all the paper work with 5 different banks, Unfortunately they were unable to get me a approval on a car loan with the lower interest rate as they told me.

I have field a proposal 1 year ago and that brought my credit down. So this guy at the dealer said that he can get me loan with 3rd parties with a lower interest rate.

After trying to reached out to him in weeks, finally got hold of him and he said that so far the approval he got are the same as what I have already. Then he mention that he will get back to me with one more pending approval.

I'am disappointed because for all this and yet he never call me back till now, but someone from the *** called to apologize behalf of them and was trying to sell me another personal loan for those who were unable to get a car loan.I have rejected that offer.

For now all this hassle I just want to get my security deposit of refundable $100 back by the dealer and stop any further proceeding with them.

I advise for customers with poor credit, when they say guarantee approval in 24 h. don't just fall for it just like I did.

Regards

Desired Outcome

Just refund my money back and I do not wish to deal further processing with them.
