Motor city construction

a man from a construction co. came to my house asking if I would like some used asphalt that they were removing from city streets. I asked how much he wanted. He said $14.00 a yard, and they would spread and roll it. I said ok for $14.00 a yard, In 30 minutes they were there and started the work. Half way thru the work another person brought up a paper to sigh for the work. Six trucks came I figured 35 yards per truck. I thought $3000.00 for the asphalt. My surprise when I got the bill $10,300 I asked why so much? I thought it was $14.00 a yard. That's when he told me that is $14.00 a square yard not a cubic yard
