Motor Coach Tours & Travel by Christine Reviews (5)

Review: I had booked a three day trip to Canada with "Motor Coach Tours and Travel by Christine" in November, 2014. Paying a fee of $425. Twenty-four hours before we were to depart I was notified, via Priority Mail, our trip had been cancelled because of an accident in which our tour guide was injured. The letter stated that I could have my money back or put it toward a future tour. The three other people I was traveling with and I decided we would book the "Big Apple Tour that was offered for May 1-4, 2015. This trip was $625, which required an additional $200 added to what was still being held from the previous cancellation. In the meantime, additional activities for New York were booked personally totaling $189.05. Again, less than 24 hours before the bus was to depart I was notified, via Priority Mail, the trip was cancelled. This time the reason given was that the Public Utility Commission was not allowing buses to go to the destination, which the PUC said was false. With our cancellation letter a refund check was included for $625. However, when it was cashed it did not clear and funds were withdrawn from my account.Desired Settlement: My request, primarily, is to have my $625 refunded with a check that is "good". Secondly, I would like the additional $189.05, that was incurred a minimal time before the scheduled trip, refunded as well.

Review: I scheduled a bus trip to go to New York on May 1-4, 2015. However, it was cancelled the day before it was to go. I received an explanation letter with a check in the amount of the trip. Finally, I deposited the refund check, but it did not go through. When I called my bank, they did not know the reason and said I would incur a $12 fee.Desired Settlement: I would like my monies returned for the New York City trip ($625), other activities purchased in advance for NYC ($189), and the fee for the returned check at my bank ($12).

Review: Business received and cashed check for $625 for bus tour (big Apple Tour, May 1-4). Less than 24 hours before trip was to leave, I received notice that the trip was cancelled. Enclosed was a check for the full refund. When I deposited the check, I soon learned that the check was returned to the sender and the funds were withdrawn from my bank account. I have attempted to reach the business by phone and have sent two emails. I have not heard back. In addition, in the letter explaining that the tour was cancelled, was a notice that if we had purchased tickets for additional entertainment on our own, we could forward receipts to the business for compensation. Altogether, I have paid $625 for the tour and an additional $189 for two activities (Broadway show and interactive bus tour).Desired Settlement: I would like to receive compensation for the monies I have spent on both the tour bus/accommodations and additional expenses. I would like for the business to be held accountable for what is promised to its customers. I feel this business does not have reputable management.

Review: In November, 2014, Three friends and I paid for a bus trip to Canada. 24 hours before we were to leave, we received a Priority Mail letter stating the bus hostess was in an accident and the trip was cancelled. [redacted] said we could get our money back ($425) or put it toward another trip. Three friends and I paid for a trip to New York City from 5/1/15-5/4/15 with Motor Coach Tours and Travel by [redacted]. On 4/30/15, less than 24 hours before we were to leave, I received a Priority Mail Envelope containing a letter stating the trip was cancelled. I also received a check for $625, the amount paid for the trip. On that same date, I deposited the check. On 5/4/15, I received a call from the credit union that the check was no good, it had to be "returned to maker." Since 4/29/15, I have called [redacted] multiple times and emailed both her and her assistant to get more information about the trip. (On 4/30/15, I found out that there were no reserved rooms at the hotel she told us we were supposedly staying in.) No one answered the phone, nor was an answering machine used. I know they had one. No emails were answered. The website is no longer active. Now, I find I am out not only the monies we paid ($189.05) for activities we wanted to go to while in NYC, now we also lost the $625. Totals equal $814.05. The letter I received on 4/30/15 stated " if we made and have recites(sic) for additional events planned during your travel please forward them to our office so we can get a refund for those as well." I have not submitted anything to her since I don't even know if she is still in business! I have receipts, but I decided to keep them since her check was returned.I would like to get my monies back, for the trip and the events we scheduled. I can submit paperwork to further my complaint. Papers including her recently sent itinerary, the priority mail letter and receipts for activities.Desired Settlement: Since this is the 2nd bus trip cancelled by [redacted], I would like to get my $625 paid for the trip and $189.05 for scheduled activities. Since [redacted]'s letter said we could submit receipts for refunds, I have those receipts. I would like to have a total of $814.05 refunded to me.

Review: I registered and paid this business via credit card (for myself and a friend) to take a one day [redacted] tour scheduled for October 25, 2014. We were notified via mail that the tour company ran into a problem with this scheduled trip and they needed to reschedule us for a different date (November 1, 2014). Unfortunately we were not able to attend the day that the tour company rescheduled. I was told that if I could not attend the new date, I would be refunded my full amount of money since they had to reschedule the date. I was never refunded my money. November 18th, I called the business again and spoke with "[redacted]" and told her that I still had not been refunded and she reported she would speak with "[redacted]" who would take care of the matter. She informed me that they usually send a cashiers check for refunds. [redacted] even called me 1-2 days after this and told me that [redacted] was taking care of the matter. I have yet to receive any refund and now I cannot even get in touch with anyone at the business---I have called multiple times and there is either no answer or it goes to answering machine. I have left messages for someone to return call but have yet to have any contact with staff from this business. The last time I called them, I reported that I would be contacting the Revdex.com. I should have been refunded $178.Desired Settlement: I should get my full refund of $178. I was told that I would be refunded the full amount if I (and my friend) could not make the trip since the tour company had to rescheduled the date.
