*** purchased a Suzuki Burgman from us March 9,
His scooter does have a full warranty on it that expires March 9,
*** brought in his Burgman August 15, for service issuesHis Burgman had 5,miles on itHe brought it in for us to diagnose & verify his complaints of occasional hard starting & excessive oil consumption
Our mechanics checked the following
PCV valve - it checked out good
Performed a compression test - compression was psi
Leakdown test - leakdown was at 4%
Checked the air filter - was extremely dirty; they installed new air filter
Verified oil level
All measurements were within manufacturer specifications
Motor Sports of Willmar contacted the Suzuki Service Tech Dept& Suzuki district Service Representative regarding the oil consumption issue & the hard starting issueWe performed all the recommended tests above & determined that there is no evidence of a warrantable defect at this time
Mr*** is driving this machine at its top rpm limits of its intended use on a regular basis; which in return could consume more oil than what he expectsPer Suzuki ozof oil in miles is not excessive oil consumption driving under these conditions
The Burgman starts great unless it sits for 2-weeks at a timeThe Suzuki Service Repreferred us to the owner's manual for his Burgman pg5-2, & recommends that Mr*** use the same starting procedure as "when the warm engine is hard to startThis will resolve his starting issue
The total bill that Mr*** paid was $
The maintenance portion of the bill is (air filter cost + labor + tax & shop supplies)
The diagnose of Mr*** complaint of oil consumption & hard start, so all of the tests performed above except the air filter =
We have given Mr*** trade numbers to trade in his Burgman on another scooter, as we are a multi-line dealer that has many scooter options to choose from
At this time there is nothing out of spec for this machine and there is no warrantable defect that can be repairedWe are unable to offer any refunds of services performed or of the machine itself
