Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
*** ***
I took my bike in on 11/1/an got
it out 11/22/14, to have the following fixed:
new seals put in the front forks
breaks cleaned due to oil leaking from the fork seals
have the wires soldered near the battery after talking with *** ***
We agreed up on $and if it went over he would call me
And this was after *** *** Looked at the bikeBecause when we were talking
about the stator going out and costing $to fixI told him the bike was
not worth that much
As for all
the extra work that he didHis mechanic took it upon himself and the shop to
doThe speedometer cable that he put on was something that I could have done
myself, a*** with putting in a new headlight bulbHe also charged me for
electrical contact cleanerI did not ask for the electrical switches to be
worked onAnd after I got it out of the shop the hand break light switch no
***er worksA*** with the left break lightSince when does a business have
the right to spend a customer's money without his approvalIf a customer bring
in a bike for a headlight and the tire are bald would he be in the right to put
on new tires and charge for themThat is exactly what he did when his mechanic
did hrs and mins of work on my bikeA job that should not have been over
$And as for cleaning out the front forks twice, they should have been
cleaned good the first timehe works on older bike and should not charge to do
the same job twiceHe told me the mechanic took the fairing off to replace the
speedometer cablethen the mechanic noticed that that the low beam headlight
was out so he had to take the fairing off again to replace the bulbThe front
end was the only thing that was suppose to be worked on beside soldering the
wires by the battery which was included in the $verbal contract between
*** *** and meI believe that the verbal contract was broken by running up a
$bill without my knowledge
*** ***
Regards,

The repair bill on *** *** was high but it took hrs & minutes to fix the problems, we took off hrs & minutes to try to help him outTo star off I am sending you copy's of recient work orders, if you notice that top right corner we write any special instructions for the
mechanic to followOn one is shows not to go over a certian amount and on the other it shows to call with estimate and on ***'s there is no instructions*** did sign the same work order so if there were no instructions as such he should have put it on the work order or ask me to put it on before he signed itThen he was told that the bike was old and they had a lot of problem's and that one also had chrome rotor covers and the covers are very hard to get the tire off and put it back on is ever harder and what ever extra time we would have to charge extra*** was told that a bike would be about hrs for that type of bike with no covers on the rotorsHe was told also that the shape his bike was in sometimes bolts are corroded in and some break off or strip out and what ever time it takes we would charge for*** just bought this bike and really got a lemonThe bottom bolts for the fork tubes were both stripped out so they had to be drilled out one size at a time so we didn't damaged the fork tubes, also the brake caliper's ea were covered in oil so we had to clean them up and glass bead the brake pads, sets, to get the oil off them, we would have just replaced them both but they are about $a set, that would have been $more so we are trying to keep the bill downThen we had to find some used fork tube bolts, we can't wait day's and have the bike tying up a lift waiting for the Honda shop to get new onesAlso whoever had the bike before had someone stupid work on itWhen they put the tire on the front they ran the speedometer cable around the hole it was made to go throughthis was putting the cable in a z pattern and the end of the cable was already broke and could have locked down the speedometer drive and that could have broke the drive which the wheel bearings are next to it and could have locked down the front wheel or caused the bike to go into a bad whobble which could have caused a crashWe are not going to do a half as job and get someone hurt to save a customer a couple of dollars, then we get sued for all we are worthThe speedometer cable is mounted up in the fairing so the fairing has to be taken apart to replace the cable and Honda didn't design it to be easy, we didn't make the bikeAlso all the fork tubes were filled with trash and had to be cleaned out so it doesn't contaminate the new seals, we do not do the same job twiceWhen we pushed the bike in when the customer dropped it off and we thought it was the front brakes dragging because of oil on the front brake calipersWhen we took the bike for a test ride and got on the brakes hard and got back to the shop, the rear brakes were locked up and we couldn't move the bikeWe had to take off the rear caliper and it was locked up because the brake fluid was old and had never been changed and turned to jell and we had to take it apart and cleaned it out and bleed out the rear brakes so they worked properlyThen we were able to finish the test ride to make sure the bike work that was done was safeI am sorry if he does not feel his life is worth us doing the job properly with the bike we worked on but we did not sell him the motorcycle and we did not do the previous work on the bike and we were not the one that didn't do the proper maintance that should have been done on the motorcycle, we just tryed to make it as safe as what we could with what we had to work withAlso that bike had a charging problem that had not been corrected by the previous owner and I make it known to the new owner if it wasn't fixed it could have cost *** over $to fix it after it messed up, we fixed that also which he said toI have been in business in this area for years and in all that time we have only had complaint and you guy's agreed that we were in the rightWe try to take care of the customer to keep them safe, that is our first prioretyI hope this answers your questionsThank you. *** ***
