Motoworld of El Cajon Reviews (4)

Review: [redacted] in Sales, and [redacted] in Finance, claimed on June 6, 2015 that Synchrony Bank required that I purchase an extended warranty through Western Services Contract Corp. in order to receive an interest rate of 5.99% on a KTM dirtbike. Otherwise, he claimed the bank would penalize me with a higher rate of 7.99%. He stated that the 2 year extension, which covered only motor and transmission, is indispensable to my needs. I signed the contract and purchased the warranty only under the condition that it was refundable. Once I returned home, I did some internet research on Western Services and found that many customers were dissatisfied with the company's coverage because it was highly restrictive. As I read about their complaints, I found that I would be disqualified should I need to make a claim, because I would not be able to procure maintenance receipts, since I do all of the work myself. I would also be disqualified because I plan to use the bike during track days and for competition. I contacted Western Service and Synchrony Bank the following business day, June 8th, to inquire about the warranty and the financing. The representative at Western Service told me that the coverage had many gray areas, where I could be denied; and Stephanie at Synchrony Bank told me that the bank would never require a customer to purchase an extended warranty in order to receive a better rate. Both representatives advised me to contact Motoworld dealership to have the contract rewritten and the warranty coverage cost of $891 removed. I contacted customer service and [redacted], who told me on June 9th that he would offer me an update. He nor anyone else has contacted me since. I then researched complaints against Motoworld filed with Revdex.com and identified a customer who had the same exact issue on July 2, 2012 as I have now. I also reviewed a number of Revdex.com complaints against Western Service from customers who could not make use of the warranty due to the "gray" areas.Desired Settlement: I request that Motoworld rewrite the sales contract as per the suggestions offered by Synchrony Bank and Western Service Contract Corp and remove the charge of $891 and remove the "extended warranty" from the sales contract. Although the warranty is technically refundable by policy within 60 days of purchase, that process is cumbersome and Western Service requires 4 to 8 weeks to address the matter at which point their clause mentions that Western may not refund the money to the customer. Previous customers have complained to the Revdex.com of not having received a refund. Since Motoworld provided me with the wrong information in order to make the sale, I demand that Motoworld correct the paperwork immediately and remove the warranty altogether. I contacted Motoworld in a timely manner to request the correction; and Motoworld is not making any evident effort to correct it.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

On June 8th, I asked Motoworld of El Cajon, specifically [redacted] in Sales and [redacted] in Finance, to rewrite the contract they had offered me and that I had signed on June 6th for the purchase of a 2015 KTM 250sx dirt bike. I asked them to rewrite the contract because I discovered from the bank providing the financing and the company representing the warranty that they had fraudulently presented terms and conditions. As a result of this misrepresentation, I signed the contract.

Review: On 17 Feb 2014, I purchased an Extended Service Plan. I paid $265.00 withan agreement to pay an additional $101.94 per month for a period of 18 months. My motor[redacted] has had service performed in accordance with the ESP, with work completed on Friday 14 March 2014. On that day I was informed byEl Cajon Harley that there was a "Clerical Error" which could take up to 48 hours to correct.I am lodging this complaint on Monday, 17 March 2014, after numerous calls to the Harley dealership as well as the Service Payment Plan Provider. As of this submission, I am still waiting for authorization for [redacted]s, Old Towne, San Diego to be paid and release my motor[redacted].The "Clerical Error" should have consequences. Thank-You in advance for your time, I await your response.Desired Settlement: Immediate corrective action and authorization to [redacted] for payment and release of my motor[redacted] with my deductible payment.Authorization to have a complete "Detail" performed on my motor[redacted], at my convenience, with [redacted] (Cost $100.00). This will be an acceptable way for El Cajon Harley to make amends for my inconvenience.Due to probable "Bad Feelings", I do not want the detail performed at El Cajon Harley.

Review: On Saturday May 4th, I called Motoworld to get a price on a 50cc Honda motorcycle that I was looking for my 7yr old son who has ADHD but has done better in school.. Sells person that answered the phone, I believe his name was [redacted], told me, after negotiation on the phone for some time, to come over. I told him, the only way I will drive that far is if you guarantee me the price of $1350 out the door. Sells person said come over then. My son and I with a friend of mine, drove to El Cajon from Chula Vista to buy this motorcycle. Once there, sells person greeted us and showed the motorcycle to my son and I. My son got on the motorcycle as the sells person was encouraging how well he looked on the motorcycle. At this point, sells person told me that he could not sell the motorcycle at that price, that it was too low, and I needed to come up with a couple more hundred dollars. I was enraged how they would let us drive that far, misleading us and allowing my 7yr old son to get on the motorcycle. You should have seen the look in my son, I guess thats what the seller wanted to see to get a couple more hundred dollars. As a father I felt horrible. We requested to speak with the store manager, and manager said that he never heard his sales person say anything about $1350. He did not hear that because what I told the sells person threw the phone was that the only way I was going to their store was if I could get that motorcycle at $1350 out the door, and the sales person said come over then. This is misleading and extremely demeaning and I cant believe someone can play with people, especially an adult degrading my son a 7yr old boy. What king of a business is this.Desired Settlement: I do not, I just do not want some one doing business like this. It is not right. Next thing I will do is going to the Turko Files and see if they can air my situation. What can Motoworld do to make this right????
