Motta Heating & Air Conditioning Inc Reviews (1)

Review: Our air conditioning unit will not turn off (the fan runs constantly) this problem dates back to May 30, 2013. Motta HVAC has been at our house three times and the problem persists. We called again today and were told that they are very busy and could not tell us when they would be back to service our unit. We have been told that our unit is not a priority because we have AC while others don't. We feel that we have been patient and now we have reached our limit and want the unit fixed.Motta has rudely said that we could find "another company" if we are not satisfied.Desired Settlement: Would like the problem resolved as soon as possible.

To whom it may concern,

On 5/29/13 we received a call from the homeowner stating that their a/c would not cycle off on it's own & had to be turned off by the system switch on the thermostat.

On 5/30/13 our tech arrived at the house & found that the homeowner had replaced the thermostat himself. The thermostat was miswired & set up switches were set incorrectly. The tech corrected the wiring and the set up switches. The system was checked & refrigerant was added. The system was cycled on & off in a/c mode & again in heating mode. The fan was cycled on & off & worked normally.

On 6/4/13 the owner called & stated that for a short time the blower on the furnace was running even though the system was shut off at the thermostat.

On 6/6/13 our tech returned to the home & checked operation of the system. Everything cycled on & off normally. The blower was not running unnecessarily at this time. The wiring was checked for short circuits- none were found.

During the week of 7/8/13 the owner called & stated that the blower was again running when it shouldn't have been.

On 7/16/13 our tech arrived at the house & found the circuit board in the furnace malfunctioning causing the blower to run when it shouldn't. He replaced the circuit board with a universal replacement that was supposed to be an equivalent replacement for the board in the furnace. This board was either defective or not the exact replacement for the original board. Our tech told the owner we would have to return.

On 7/17/13 the owner called & wanted to know when we were going to return to fix the furnace. I explained to her that wc would be returning at some point to repair the unit but we had a heavy backlog of “tin a/c” calk. It is our policy to take care of people that do not have a/c ahead of people that are working but need repairs. The owner became very irrate at this. At this time I told her that I understood it was taking a longer than she liked & would understand if she wanted to call another company. She told me to keep her on our list to get back to.

On 7/18/13 our tech returned to the house & again the circuit board was malfunctioning. He replaced the circuit board with the exact OEM replacement circuit board & rechecked operation of the furnace & a/c. Everything worked as it should.

At no time from 5/30/13 through 7/18/13 was the owner left without a working unit. They were only billed for the original diagnostic fee & refrigerant on 5/30/13 & the final repair for the circuit board on 7/18/13. They were not charged anything additional for the added trips because of an intermittent problem or an additional diagnostic fee even though they added a second problem by incorrectly installing their own thermostat. Sony it took longer to resolve than the owner liked but we had many other customers to keep comfortable in an extremely busy time. Our entire company has been working very long days to keep up with the work load, many times working until dark. We will continue to try to keep all of our customers as comfortable as possible by prioritizing the calls as they come in & taking care of them in order of urgency & with fairness to all.
