The patient has a total bill right now of $3346.50, all from October of last year. No payment has been made on this account as of yetWe would be more than happy to discard the one visit (Oct 28th) the patient is asking to be removed if he would pay the remainder of his bill ($3021.50), or at the very least, set up payment arrangements. If the patient does not show good faith in making monthly payments, we would not be able to adjust his billIf the patient contacts the billing dept by the end of this month with a payment and/or payment arrangements, will be be happy to adjust his bill accordingly

I would like to respond to the points that were made in the desired outcome.  First of all, we do not disclosed charges upfront in the ER.  They vary depending on what the physician all needs to do. In this case, patient presents with laceration to left great toe.  Injury was examined...

and xrays were taken.  Laceration was sutured, and xrays did show a fracture.  Patient was given pain meds, and antibiotic.  Referred to orthopedic specialist for follow up.   Counseled regarding diagnosis, results, treatment plan, and prescriptions.  Patient indicated understanding of instructions.  Patient was discharged from ER.   Patient did see ortho specialist4 days laterin our specialty clinic.  Wound was examined and xrays reviewed.  Was told he had an open fracture in toe. Wound was also infected. Patient given more antibiotics and a work release so he could stay off foot.  Sutures were not taken out yet. Told to come back for follow up with specialistin one week.  Patient did come back as instructedone week later, wound was inspected and was determined to be healed well enough for suture removal.  Orthopedic surgeon removed sutures himself.  Applied steri-strips and was told to expect alittle drainage.  Orthopedic wanted patient to come backin 3 weeksfor wound check and more xrays to make sure that bone healed and no evidence of osteomyelitis. Patient never returned. As far as double billing for xrays, we have our charge for doing the xrays and he is getting another bill from the radiologist that read the xrays, which is typical with all xrays.  And he was not charged a separate fee for suture removal.  He was only charged the office visit fee for seeing the orthopedic specialist. He did not have to keep his appointments with the specialist, if he didn’t think it was necessary.  He could have returned to the ER to have the sutures removed at no additional cost. He has been sent our financial assistance application and all itemized billing.  Other than requesting said paperwork, he has not contacted us with any questions or concerns.  We would be happy to explain his billing to him at any time.As far as the amount he was charged at another facility, he went to a family clinic/walk in clinic, which isn’t going to have the same fees as an ER or seeing a specialist in our specialty clinic.  Our fees at our family clinic are considerably less, as well. Thanks,[redacted]Patient Accounts Manager

this has to be the WORST hospital I have ever come across in my life. I have had so much trouble with this place. my wife went here for a knee injuriy she was brought by ambulance and kept here for 2 or 3 days. when we got the bill humana my ins. co said the codeing was sent in wrong the $8369 bill was sent to me . my portion under my policy is $125.00 er co pay thats it. well the hospital corrected the codeing but never asked for preauthorization the ins.co still wasnt paying till the submitted the corrected bill and got retro pre authorization . well the woman in billing joann is just content to do nothing while she was telling me she took care of it and billed me saying your ins. has paid its share you now owe $8369 it was due to there filing the bill wrong not anything we did. . fortunately I am a retired uaw member and have a benifits rep at our local union office . she worked on this as it dragged out from june of 2014 till jan of 2015 before the union rep spoke to a human rep who called moundview and had to walk them through how to file a correct bill. then all was paid I was to pay only the $125.00 well the hospital bills me $169.44 I inquired why [redacted] said oh its a previous amount . I thought ok whatever I pais the $69.44 last moonth and expected they would bill me the $100 balance yesterday I get a bill from them now it says $225 owed what is the story with these people?? we havent used there facilty at all and should not continue to get higher bills from them. I posted on face book what a poor place it was maybe there vindicive and trying to stick it to me. anyone I say to you DONT GO HERE STAY AWAY THERE AWFUL IN CARE AND BILLING. EVERYONE I SPOKE TO SAID TO ME DONT GO THERE. BUT MY INSURANCE HAS THEM AS A IN NET WORK HOSPITAL SO I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OK ITS NOT THERE TERRIBLE HERE. my son got mercia infection from there unsanitary practices.
