*** called and stated that the business resolved the complaint and sent him a photo of the new urn with the names on it and he is satisfiedWe are all set and thank you for our assistance

Please reference your ID number [redacted] dated November 15, 2016 from a Mr. [redacted] J. [redacted]. After...

reviewing Mr. [redacted]'s complaint regarding a missing floral urn within our Mount Calvary Cemetery, Section U, Lot 1566 for [redacted] the following action has been taken.  A gray, granite crete urn with the name [redacted] was ordered on November 19, 2016. The urn ordered will replicate the urn that was originally placed. Once received and placed a picture will be taken and forwarded to Mr. [redacted]'s email address of [redacted] we will  also retain a picture within our permanent file as well. Enclosed you will find a copy of pages 14 & 15 of our required Rules and Regulations. The highlighted letters (pg. 14/B and pg. 15/L) refer to the guidelines in place regarding outdoor decorations which a floral urn is considered. Whenever we remove an urn from a grave/lot we take a picture and document the removal to avoid situations like Mr. [redacted] has encountered. This was shared with Mr. [redacted] and is documented within his complaint. We have no internal record of us removing the [redacted] floral urn for any reason. Mr. [redacted]'s statement of "they took it away simply because of dates on marker were old 1897 born [redacted] -1902 born [redacted]. I think they thought no one was around any longer". Is an inaccurate and untrue statement, if it was true Grounds #1 of our United German and French Cemetery founded in 1859 would be void of any such memorialization which is not the case. The role of a cemetery is the perpetuation of a life lived and that life is memorialized by monumentation (which includes the use of floral urns). Mr. [redacted]'s reference to "this has happened before I found out'' only solidifies the documented action we take when removing a floral urn. He is referring to a family member who has family interred within our Veterans Section, Section Q in our Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Yes we not only removed urns, we also turned over those that had remained unplanted such that the weather elements we face here in WNY did not come into play. An uncovered urn, left out year round, exposed to the elements of rain, snow, freeze and thaw over the years will discolor and may experience stress cracks. We documented every urn that was removed, kept those that we removed and re positioned an urn back at the correct grave when requested by the family. This was done to enhance the overall appearance of this highly visible and valued Veteran's section. What Mr. [redacted] fails to mention is that the urn in question was easily found and re-set at the grave because of the documented way/method we used in the process. If Mr. [redacted] has any further concerns please have him contact me directly at 716-892-6600.Also, please update your contact records for Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. [redacted] retired from Mount Calvary at the end of 2015. Respectfully, Jeffrey M. [redacted] President   Mount Calvary Cemetery, Inc.
