Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:In Mount Calvary's response to me, there is a direct admission of Mount Calvary's mistake made in the year I paid $for their mistake If the information had been filed correctly they would have the record that my father, *** ** ***, still had the cemetery plot for his future use Instead their record keeping was flawed and resulted in Mount Calvary telling me and my brother that the plot was available and should be sold by us.By their "suggestion" I was given the telephone number of the *** *** to put an ad in the paper I would never have done this in the first place, if it had not been so easily conveyed by Agustin, it would be "best to purchase an ad." I did this only because I was told to do soI also placed an ad with *** *** on March 11, which is free In the ad in *** *** I stated: "I am selling a beautiful cemetery plot in one the most established cemeteries in Albuquerque I it is located at Section D, Row 3, Space Any type of stacking would be done directly with Mount Calvary."Regarding Mr*** ***; he left disappointed when he found out the plot had someone else buried in Section D, Row 3, Space He was upset by Mount Calvary's pathetic filing I believe Mount Calvary treated my father unfairly as they did with Mr *** Their organization is poorly kept and results in people being treated without dignity. Yes, for the plot it was settled to receive money for it alone I had also asked Agustin and Rosina about the cost of the ad Rosina, whom I called at least three times, after she said "no" without explanation, never returned the calls which resulted in this complaint As I said originally, this ad resulted in me losing $by their own admission, they did not keep their information correct I am on disability retirement and still need to work to pay my bills and this amount of money is too much to lose If Mount Calvary does not carry it spiritual values, that is, Mount Calvary steals property and character from others, then I think they need to reevaluate their purpose in being a Catholic organization. I want a response by the Director or President of Mount Calvary, whether it is regional or national.Payment must be made to me, *** ***, for the amount $212.43.Regards,
*** ***[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]

To Whom It May Concern, This letter is in response to a complaint filed by Mrs*** ***Below is a synopsis of the events that transpired. On October 23, 2000, *** ***, father of *** *** and *** ***, purchased a burial right at Mount Calvary
CemeteryOn September 18, 2001, Mr*** came back and purchased an additional burial right and double marker; however, Mr*** defaulted on this contract and it was cancelledUpon the cancellation being made, the cemetery staff made the mistake of returning the space to inventory even though the space purchase itself had NOT been cancelledSubsequently, the property was sold to another family for a burial. In March of 2017, surviving children *** *** and *** *** made the decision to sell the burial right and contacted Mount Calvary Cemetery for assistance in doing soIn an attempt to assist Mrs***, who lives out of state, the family service coordinator suggested that Mrs*** run an ad in the *** ***As Mount Calvary Cemetery is not associated with the *** ***, we do not advise families about prices or requirements the *** may haveOur providing Mrs*** with the ***'s phone number was strictly to assist her, not an endorsement of servicesIt is, and always remains, the decision of the individual whether to enlist the services of an outside entity. With reference to the advertisement in the *** *** and potential purchaser, *** ***When Mr*** came in to meet with our family service coordinator, he had been told by Mrs*** that the burial right she and her brother were selling included the additional items needed for burialMr*** was advised by the family service coordinator that this was not the caseIt was this revelation, in addition to the mistake found about the burial right, that Mr*** decided not to purchase at Mount Calvary Cemetery and has instead opted for burial at the National CemeteryMr*** did not leave Mount Calvary crying, as Mrs*** stated. Upon discovery of the mistake concerning the burial right, I made it a point to contact *** *** to inform her of the issue and proposed two options, 1) to provide one burial right in another location, or 2) the cemetery would offer to buy back the burial right at today's priceSince Mr*** and Mrs*** were wanting to sell the burial right anyway, they decided to take the buyoutNeither option included the reimbursement of her advertisement in the *** ***. *** *** and *** *** were offered $1,400, the cost of their father's burial right at today's price, split into $for each person, as exchange for the previously purchased burial rightBoth parties have signed indemnification and relinquishment agreements and as of March 17, this matter has been settled. The cemetery regrets any hardship that Mr*** and Mrs*** encountered during this process, as it was never our intention to cause them additional stressHowever, we do no feel that it is our responsibility to reimburse Mrs*** for her advertisement as it was her decision to enlist the assistance of the *** *** to sell the burial rightIn addition, it was her decision to accept the costs associated with placement of said advertisement and at no time was reimbursement ever said to be included with the proposed settlement.Respectfully,Rosina ***Cemetery SupervisorMount Calvary Cemetery
