My mother has been in this facility for 2.5 years and approximately a year ago she obtained additional insurance to offset costs (so she thought). However, after almost a year she recognized that the facility was indeed in network with one of her three insurance providers, so she called and was told that the facility needed to submit claims to them so they could present payment, as only two claims were filed within the last year and they were denied by the insurance company simply because they were submitted late. However, after the denial in November, no further claims have been filed. I have been on the phone with the insurance company as recently as today and they note that they spoke with Susan in the business office and they requested that she send the claims and she declined to do so and even refused to take the number for the insurance company's provider services number. I have no issue with the insurance company denying a claim, but I do have an issue with NO CLAIM being filed on my mother's behalf because she pays for this insurance so shouldn't the facility have to file a claim with ALL of my mother's insurance and let the insurance company decide whether or not to decline? I have called several times and left messages for Susan as well as Erin S and nobody has called me back. The fact that two claims were filed says that they have all the information necessary to file claims and just refuse to do so. Yolanda in the business office was very rude to me today, saying that I said "I don't care if you have anything to do with it or not" but what was actually said was "I understand that you don't have anything to do with this, but could you please pass along the information....she yelled "You do'n't have to be rude" but I wasn't rude. I just feel like elderly people are being treated unfairly, I mean who gets to decide who to file claims with and who not to

Good Evening Ms.,
My facility received your correspondence regarding a complaint filed against us by ***. The substance of Ms.’s grievance was based on her misunderstanding. She has admitted that our center organization has acted ethically and reasonably in regards to provisioning care and services for her mother.

Ms. has expressed a desire to withdraw this complaint, but is seeking guidance on executing this.

I told her I would contact the Bureau and provide her an update. I have since called her and left a message with the Bureau’s contact information so someone can walk her through this withdrawal.
