Mountain High Rentals

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! My husband and I were on our honeymoon and love the great outdoorsWe decided to use this company before reading the reviewsMy husband called and set up an appointment for us to use a jeep for a dayIt was going to run us $Alright, whatever, we wanted to experienceSo we meet the guyAfter all the insurance stuff (we had to buy insurance because they wouldn't take AllstateWho doesn't take Allstate!) and we had to buy tire insuranceAfter all was said and done, it turned into $Ugh, okayWe had already got really excited to goWe did a pre-trip inspection with the guy from the rental place and I started pointing out dents and damageI pointed out a spot on the front of the hood that he told me was "just a rock chip" and that he didn't care about that kind of damageAlrightAlso, it was a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top and NO windows in the backIt was supposed to rain that whole day and it was cold up in the mountainsMy husband asked for windows in which the reply was that they didn't have any but as long as we keep moving, the rain won't come inSo we take the jeep outWe have a great timeViews we would never see anywhere, so much fun, and it's pretty cool to say you climbed a mountain in a WranglerOn the other hand, we were freezingIt was so cold and the rain was coming right in no matter how much we kept he jeep movingAfterwards, we took the Jeep to the car wash (which is yet something else they make you do, and you have to pay for it!) and my husband washes it BY HAND closely inspecting the vehicle for damageNothingSo that was greatWe return the vehicle to the underground parking facility where all the vehicles are keptThe next day, we didn't hear anything about the inspection so we figure we are all free and clearTwo days after our jeep tour, the owner (who was never available or present) calls and tells my husband that he has to charge us $ for body damageMy husband tells him we never damaged anything and said we were heading over to the facility immediately to inspect the damageHahahahahaSo, the OWNER tells us we CANNOT come see the damage because the jeep has already been RENTED OUT again by someone elseSo you're telling us we have to pay you $for something we did not do and cannot inspect? For all we know, someone they knew took the jeep out and damaged is, then is charging us for their problems! After almost an hour of arguing with the owner who can never meet you in person and has his minions do all of his dirty work (also, he made sure to mention several times that he is a lawyer), he conveniently lowers the price to $for the damageStill not okaySo he tells us we can go inspect the vehicle that nightWe are there right on timeAnd you know what our "damage" was? It was the freaking ROCK CHIP that I pointed out on the pre-tour inspection!
This company is a bunch of scam artists that make their money stealing it from travelersWhile our experience up in the mountains was fabulous, I would NEVER EVER recommend them

I was skeptical after already making my reservation (and deposit) after reading a negative review on-line. Yes, going to pick the Jeep up is a bit of a strange experience. But it's a small company. They do require a $1000 deposit upon rental, but they do not charge your card unless there are damages when you return it. I was nervous they were going to come up with some type of make believe damages, but that was NOT the case. It was so much cheaper for us to rent from there, than a big rental place. Mountain High also tells you exactly the Jeep you're going to get, so no need to worry about whether or not you're going to get a 4wd vehicle (unlike big rental companies). Other than that, car ran great, and the Jeep was exactly as promised. As one review mentioned on a different site, there are some insurance companies they won't accept. So you'll need to buy the extra insurance if you have insurance they don't accept.
