We have an issue that I would like to warn people about in regards to storing your belongings at Extra Space Storage or any storage unit for that matterWe have stored my husbands belongings in a storage unit for four years; we went to empty our unit this past weekend only to find an infestation of bed bugs in the storage unitsI can assure you these items were BED BUG FREE before storageEVERYTHING we have stored has been a total loss as we will not risk attempting to decontaminate and bringing bed bugs into our homeWe have paid over $10,to store these belongings for the past four years and are extremely disappointed to find that we will not be receiving any compensation back for the $10,spent to store these belongings only to turn around and have to throw everything awayThe bugs should die without a host but unfortunately they were able to survive on the mice and mice droppings we discovered in our unitIt has been a complete nightmare and I want to warn other people like us to be very careful and to think twice about storing your belongings in a storage unitDON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
We also did have insurance to protect some of our belongings ($2,000) but that does not help with the $10,spent to store these itemsExtra Space District Manager was not helpful in god matter at allAll in all I would venture to guess was have lost over $15,plus by storing our belongings herePlease be careful!! Don’t get burnt like we did
