Mrs***, While I can sympathize with you and your situation, patients also have a responsibility to ensure that health care organizations have your correct healthcare plan and policy numbers. As a courtesy, after the fact, I went ahead and billed your correct insurance, which again billing insurance for our patients is a courtesy. Your test was performed and done correctly. While this may have have caused a little confusion for you and my company both for us being given the wrong insurance information, it does not warrant a free medical test, and for us to write off a medical test that is valid is not lawful. We are not a company as you suggest that is predatory, and shady. We follow all federal and state guidelines to ensure not only our billing practices follow the letter of the law, but that our patients receive the best care. Again, us being provided the wrong insurance information was not our doing, nor did you verify with us or your insurance company before the test was performed that we had the wrong one

Dear Mrs. [redacted], Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take pride in all aspects of our business and always make strong efforts to improve in anyway we can. While there is absolutely no excuse for miss-billing a medical procedure, we do make human mistakes. ...
We had an old [redacted] plan in your chart, and our billing company in error, still had that marked at your primary insurance. I have since corrected that error, billed [redacted], and the amount you were quoted and paid prior to our delivery (which is our policy due to cost of our equipment) has been applied correctly to your account. Your [redacted] deductible had not been met, and therefore that amount you paid covered the expense of your out pocket for the test and will be applied to your deductible. I apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused you.
