Thank you for writing us about this issue. We in no way hide or cover up our cancellation policy to avoid this type of situation specifically. We believe it is a fair policy, in which the customer is able to use their deposit towards a future booking for one year from their arrival date...
in the event they need to cancel. The customer in question made his reservation online. When a customer clicks "Reserve Now", a drop down box appears with a link to "Cancellation Policy" before they are able to go any further. Also, once the customer has made their reservation, a confirmation email is sent with their information, as well as the cancellation policy written directly under their arrival/departure dates. If any customer misses this policy while booking, and then realizes once they receive their e-mail that they'd rather not rent a cottage here with us, we would be more than happy to void the charge. We want our customers to be pleased with their experience here at Mountain Springs Lake, and if we have made a mistake or there was an error in communication then we want to do anything we can to correct that error. In this particular case, we do feel that our policy is justifiably upheld. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have.

It's a matter of $275.09 I paid and did not stay at the facility. With the way they handled theirselves I do not wish to use their services in the future which makes the credit for use in the future pointless.
