We have been dealing with these issues since MayI have spoke to Mr*** on multiple occasions about his issuesI asked him to bring up the vehicle or send us the receipts and we will reach out to the shop letting them know it is under warranty and they will replace itHe will not do that
for some reasonThe wheels and the tires are brand new and I can provide the receipts for thatBut again, all he needs to do is bring up his vehicle or the receipts and we will be more than happy to get this taken care of

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/05/13) */
The vehicle was sold to the customer (***) as describedI went back and checked the ad and it had said nothing about being (rust free), although the body was rust free, there was typical Missouri rust underneath the vehicleThe vehicle
passed the Missouri Safety Inspection with no issuesThe vehicle was then listed on the internetMr*** then called to inquire and came the business for a test driveHe looked the vehicle over front to back, side to side, over and underHe then decided to purchase the Ford ExplorerAfter the sale, we purchased a month powertrain warranty to go along with the vehicleAbout a month later, *** called the store and says the motor is not turning over, we then reminded him of his month warranty he had gotten from usWe had arranged towing and used a local shop to diagnose the issueThe timing chain had "popped" which had then damaged the motorWe then gave *** a rental vehicle, (which is something we DO NOT offer anyone, but due to the fact that it was his only vehicle and needed to get to work while the repairs were being made, we felt it would be the right thing to doThe warranty covered most of the repair and he then took the vehicle and returned our rental we had given himThe vehicle sold to him, a Ford Explorer XLT with 99xxx original miles was a good vehicle that passed all Missouri Inspections at the time of saleThe customer also Left a star review on our GOOGLE page a few weeks after the sale

The company is aware of the complaint which has been filed by this customer.  They also filed a complaint with the MO Attorney General's Office and the complaint was dismissed against us.  I had provided the safety inspection report and Used Car Buyer's Guide to the MO Attorney General's...

Office for their review and consideration in the matter.  There has been abuse to the vehicle outside of the offered 30 day warranty and normal use of the vehicle.  There were photos posted on our Facebook page showing the truck covered in mud which indicates it had been taken for off road driving by their son leading to damage to the vehicle which they are requesting us to cover.  We feel that we are not responsible for the damage and have been exonerated by the MO Attorney General's Office and request that the same be done by the Revdex.com.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2015/08/20) */
The customer called to schedule a test drive for the toyota tacoma pickup a few days before the sale. The truck was represented as normal wear condition with low miles and runs excellent. when the customer arrived to the lot he did a walk...

around with the truck, checked under hood, under vehicle, and so forth. Also took it on a test drive. he was interested and a sale price was negotiated, he was happy and took the truck home later that night. a few days later he called and found some light rust on the roof of the truck and demanded we take it back. the truck is 13 years old and been in the Midwest its whole life so rust is common. We ended up having a body shop repair the roof and [redacted] agreed to pay half of the repair. he came in a picked the truck up, shook hands and all seemed to be fine. We strive for customer satisfaction here at Mountain top motor co. We realized he liked the vehicle so we did the repair for him and also in an immediate manner to get him back on the road. And the response to the complaint for selling the truck for (twice its market value). It is a 2002 toyota tacoma sr5 xtra cab with TRD off road package. 68xxx original miles. With options its NADA retail value is $12,800. ( within a few hundred dollars of what was paid for the truck). CARFAX shows 1 owner and no accidents and adds $870 to the retail value based on previous ownership. The truck also lasted only 4 days on the lot and we received numerous phone calls on the truck even after the sale.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/08/20) */
I have only had the truck for about 2 weeks now and the following have failed on the truck, the battery died and had to be replaced at my own cost, the hand brake has failed and needs replacement, the head light bulb went out and needs to be replaced. I have to do this all at my expense. The dealer did not perform any inspection of the vehicle and sold it to me. Things are slowly and steadily failing on this truck. I had asked for returning the vehicle within 12 hours of purchasing and the dealer asked for a 10 % restocking fee/ $ 1300. They made tall promises about the value of the vehicle when most reputable sites will show that they have sold the vehicle to me for twice the market price. if they are responsible they should have fixed issues on the vehicle before sale. I am paying for their negligence and false advertising.

This letter is in response to Mr. [redacted]’s complaint toward our dealership. When he purchased the vehicle, he wanted a few small repairs done which we attended to accordingly. On top of that we had the vehicle re-inspected for him at **S automotive after the sale on 12/16/16, a local Missouri...

inspection station. The truck was originally inspected on 9/29/16 at [redacted] in Elsberry, MO. So, to our knowledge everything was fine with the truck. He states that an ABS light came on the next day, however, it was never brought to my attention nor did he ever bring the truck up here to bring it to anyone’s attention. Attached with this is a signed and dated Buyers Order showing a 30-day warranty covering the vehicle’s powertrain components. Six months later he brings his truck to **S Automotive with a complaint that the brakes are giving him trouble. He demanded that we take care of all repairs. With this being well outside our 30-day window, and not to mention, not powertrain related, we would not be able to help him with his request. However, to avoid having an unhappy customer I did ask the shop owner at **S if he would discount the labor rate to help [redacted] out, also, all the parts that needed repairs were taken care of by us as they were under a manufacturer’s warranty from where we purchased them. I called the supply stores and retrieved the receipts so that the parts could be taken care of at no cost to him. He then came into out dealership and threatened me by saying that I needed to pay the labor as well “or else”, He then left. We help people that have issues with their vehicles all the time if they are inside a 30-day window. But with this happening six months after the sale, we feel that we are not responsible.
