Won't Take Responsibility for Misallocated Funds My wife and I sold our home through Crown Title Corporation on 8/31/ Our buyer was paying with cash that they received from a refinance The refinance was also settled through Crown Title Corporation Due to Crown's error, an excess amount of over $16,from the buyer's refinance was applied to the sale of our home, rather than being cashed out to the buyer This excess was transferred to another title company, where we purchased our new home, and subsequently distributed to us in the form of a check At no point did Crown contact me or my wife to notify us of this issue or try to correct it Furthermore, Crown has not taken responsibility for the error after they were contacted independently by me and the buyers (who are now out $16,000) Crown has also not offered to facilitate the exchange of the funds to be corrected
