Mountaineer Country PreOwned Auto Sales Reviews (1)

We are answering the complaint we received from your office from a *** ***yThis is our answer as follows*** *** was sent to purchase a vehicle from us on August 24th by a friend/business acquaintanceHis name is *** *** his number is: *** *** ***He is Sales manager at
*** *** *** in *** *** had no money herself but the friend and the lady's father put up the money so she could have a good, safe reliable vehicle; Which is what we provided her at an excellent cost as a favor to T*** On Sept21st as she stated, she complained that a check engine light came onWe took it to a garage that we use here and he repaired an exhaust leak and we replaced the plugs and wires on her vehicle.A month after that, on October 21st she called the office and said that she was broke down hours from home and far from anyone she knewShe said she had no money and no credit cards and was totally stranded in a stranger's driveway. We told her we would try and send our mechanics with the shop truck to try and help her get backShe said she couldn't wait that long! She continued to call the office, upset and seeming to be scared sitting where she wasI tried asking her to call for a local tow truck to come take her at least to a garageShe told me she could not do thatSaid she didn't have an internet service contract with her phone and couldn't do anything to help herself! I eventually got a street address from her and went on *** and found a garage that l believed was close enough to her and called and explained her situation to themThat garage's phone number is: (***During the hours of conversation back and forth with *** ***, we figured that she had run out of gas and killed the fuel pumpI did back to back phone calls and text with the garageThe mechanic at the garage said she either burned up the fuel pump or there was a sensor for the fuel pump that may be badThe man was so nice, and even though it was late in the evening, said he would, go tow the vehicle in for us and work on it right away, since the lady was stranded so far away from anyone she knewHe did immediately call her and went to fix her vehicle.I paid the mechanic $670,That was the best he said he could do after providing the fuel pump, the towing, and the repair workHe informed me though, that the "stranded" lady left as soon as he showed up for the vehicleShe actually had a daughter that lived close by!I used *** to pay him.So two months AFTER she purchased a vehicle from us, she loses a fuel pump and she is miles and miles away from homeWe pay to have her towed, we pay for her parts AND her laborThough she has ONLY an IMPLIED WarrantyWe pay it and stay on the phone with her for hours because we believe she is stranded somewhere that is possibly a dangerous location and we believe she is alone. We Pay for it all and she cusses us after that because we were then supposed to send drivers hours away to pickup her car and deliver it to her home in *** **! She had got a ride home that night, and did not feel she should ask someone else to return her to her vehicle.Three days she called yelling and threatening the workers here at the car lotI myself tried explaining to her that we paid extra to have her vehicle fixed RIGHT AWAY because she convinced us she was stranded far from anyone she knew! She was actually broke down where her daughter lived! So, she must be an adult and find a way back to her vehicle., I told her that we do not have the kind of man power where we can send people out to pick up her car and bring it back! The trip would take them all day! She refused to listen and insisted that we HAD to bring her vehicle back to her! By the time she finally had someone to get her vehicle days later, the mechanic said the vehicle wouldn't runHe was trying to track down what went wrongShe screamed at us and had her man call us saying it was our fault! She said we KNEW the garage and he didn't fix anything! I sent the garage messages of what she claimed and he called meHe said he had fixed the fuel pumpHe didn't know why it would not run now! Eventually after talking to the Friend/business acquaintance, *** ***, they found out that she had picked up a rodent somewhere and it was eating through the electrical circuitsHe found a nest in the wiring harnessIt was a new nest so it had recently been picked up somewhereShe, herself sent pictures to usShe said *** *old her to send them. So, *** in the meantime told us she had sent a letter of complaint to the AGHe said he told her off and told her that we were helping her when we did not have toShe said she was going to send a letter to stop the complaint(That is why we did not immediately respond to this complaint.) We believed she was going to contact you and explain it.So, as it stands, we fixed a fuel pump months after she purchased the vehicleShe had put over 3,miles on the vehicleWe paid to have it towed, we paid the repairsAnd because she had picked up a rodent somewhere, (probably trying to get in out of the cold)She blames US and thinks we should give HER (not the friend who gave her the money) all of the money back from the vehicle! She never asked us to fix the wiring that the rodent had destroyedShe didn't ask us to help her financially cover the rodent damage with the mechanicShe never asked us if she could swap the vehicle for another oneThose are all common requests when problems ariseShe only demanded we give HER all of that money back! The first thing I said to her when I had enough of her griping at me was we were already going above and beyond what we would have to do; And even IF the office guys would decide we are responsible for her vehicle in any way or if they wanted or was willing to give her ANY money, it would be returned to the people who gave us the money for the vehicle and NOT her! That made her furious with me! Which, I am afraid, made me lose my temper and I called her some names, like filthy drug addict, and I told her we would not participate in her ripping the people off of money, when they gave it to try and help her, just to feed her habit! I do feel had for thatI should not have made personal attacks in responseI do apologize for thatVery unprofessional of meI knew I shouldn't have yelled those things at her and I tried to tell her soThen I told her that I would not be speaking to her about anything anymore and hung up.I am sorry but there is nothing more we can do for this customer
