Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] I WAS accepting of the offer to refund the $cash payment I made ; HOWEVER: I called MouseWorks and spoke to an employee, [redacted] ,l telling him that I would be there shortly "to pick up the refund that the owner stated" he would refund [redacted] l said "Ok"; however, when I arrived, he brought out the monitor I reminded him that the owner had promised a refund to which he replied, I don't know anything about that Even thought [redacted] l knew why I was coming, he told me that I would have to come back when the owner was there When I asked when that would be, I was told 4:o'clock [redacted] l then accused saying," I know what you did, You were trying to hurt us." I was quite willing to simply move forward and call it even despite the inaccurate and arrogant response ending with "just to get rid of her" It seems apparent that even though the owner was in the store the second time I stopped in for the refund, prior to my report to Revdex.com, he did not have the courtesy to show face me with the fact that he had no intention of refunding but leading me on to wait to see *** It is quite doubtful that he intends to honor even the most discourteous response to refund or at least is making it difficult, so I will waste no more time or gas with MouseWorks fully recognizing this is not a trustworthy person Regards, [redacted]

In working with this customer on her old laptop we found it was beyond repair. The topic turned to used computers, and we have a few used Windows tower computers avaialable. The cost of the used computer is $150, and the labor to transfer all the personal documents from the old
computer to the new one is $50. Total $(plus tax) for the new computer. The customer found that the monitor she had was missing the VGA cable, and asked if she could rent a monitor. We have a selection of surplus CRT monitors (old style) that are available for $10. She wanted to rent one, but for the same price she could own it. The vGA cable she needed for her existing monitor is $10, and with this used monitor the cable is actually included. Making the net cost of the monitor itself free, considering the value of the VGA cable
She took the computer home, and left a voice mail for the shop later that evening that the used computer did not include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). That is infact, true. MS Office is a copyrighted product that is available for sale, but not included for free with a low cost used computer. It appears she did not own a legally licensed copy of Office to install, either. In her voice mail she told us that she was confused by the alternate free versions of office that we installed (Libre Office) and would be at the shop in the morning to return the computer
I (the owner) was not present when she returned. The staff member on duty decided he would return her money for the computer ($150), and in addition refund the labor charge ($50) for copying her files over to it from her old machine since she was a senior on a fixed income. She received her refund right away
She later returned her $monitor rental-turned-purchase. I (the owner) told her that we don't buy those back, it was hers to keep. We would exchange it if defective, but it is considered a permanent rental and could be disposed of when finished. She left the monitor here, and we would be happy to return the VGA cable (as was the original need), or the entire unit, or it could just be left for responsible-recycling. I stand behind the employee's decision to refund the $data transfer labor. Technically we could have just refund the computer ($150), the monitor rental ($10), and keep the labor charge ($50) and still have a net balance owed of $40. But that would be more effort than just writing off the $loss and returning the entire computer purchase
Her misunderstanding is unfortunate, but we've already refunded more than the cost of the computer, and will stand behind our employees decision to refund to her more than the original purchase price already. The monitor was rented, returned, and that business is complete
If necessary, I can transcribe the attached voice mail recording describing her frustration with not being able to obtain Microsoft Office and thus returning her purchase

We see computers users like this from time to time She was confused by the new computer, and decided to return it. Her monitor works perfectly, and is currently being used in the shop. Blaming the computer is a cheap way out. The keyboard had a miner defect with a stuck key. It was fixed in just a few minutes. This trivial matter really isn't worth my time, so I'll just pay her to go away

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]
I WAS accepting of the offer to refund the $10.81 cash payment I made ; HOWEVER:  I called MouseWorks and spoke to an employee, [redacted],l  telling him that I would be there shortly "to pick up the refund that the owner stated" he would refund.  [redacted]l said "Ok"; however, when I arrived, he brought out the monitor.  I reminded him that the owner had promised a refund to which he replied, I don't know anything about that.  Even thought [redacted]l knew why I was coming, he told me that I would have to come back when the owner was there.  When I asked when that would be, I was told 4:00 o'clock.
[redacted]l then accused saying," I know what you did,  You were trying to hurt us."
I was quite willing to simply move forward and call it even despite the inaccurate and arrogant response ending with  "just to get rid of her".
It seems apparent that even though the owner was in the store the second time I stopped in for the refund, prior to my report to Revdex.com, he did not have the courtesy to show face me with the fact that he had no intention of refunding but leading me on to wait to see [redacted].
It is quite doubtful that he intends to honor even the most discourteous response to refund or at least is making it difficult, so I will waste no more time or gas with MouseWorks fully recognizing this is not a trustworthy person.
