Movado

Review: I bought $49.97 watch from [redacted] and during the warranty coverage period (less than 12 months) the watch stopped working. I reported the issue to Tommy Hilfiger Customer Service and they told me to contact Movado, the manufacturer of the watch and they will take care of the issue.

I contacted the Movado and as I suspected the issue could be related to dead battery, I asked the agent if I can replace the battery myself at a battery retailer. She stated the warranty will be voided if anyone other than Movado open the cover (to replace the battery). I followed their instruction then and I spent about $15 to send the watch to Movado Service center at the address

The repair center found that the issue was due to dead battery, and in top of the $15 I spent to shipped the watch, they asked me to pay $47 to replace the battery or pay $15 to return me the watch without battery replaced, or do nothing they will discard the watch.

I do not see what I did wrong and I don't understand the reason why Movado refused that I change the battery myself but want to me pay $62 ($47 + $15) each time the battery is dead for a watch that cost $49.97.

The watch is currently with the Repair Center and they stand on the options they gave me.Desired Settlement: While I will not pay them any return fee, they should either replace the battery on their own charge or return me the watch and let me replace the battery myself with no impact on the warranty.

Review: My Movado/Ebel was not working since the time I bought it.

I sent them for repair. Now they are telling me that it is not covered under warranty. Per warranty card, it is covered for 3 years. I bought it 2 and half years ago.Desired Settlement: Repair
