Revdex.comResponse to complaint # [redacted]After speaking to the customer on June 27th, I arranged the final booking date for the move to be scheduled on June 30th. I explained that we had a tight schedule that day and would be arriving at her residence by 9:30 to fit her move in first. We arrived...
at 9:20 to allow ourselves enough time to find a place to park the truck for easiest access and shortest walking distance to the apartment. We first called the phone number that she hadprovided as a contact and it just kept ringing and ringing. We then rang the intercom that connects to the apartment and it also kept ringing and ringing. After waiting an additional 15 minutes to make sure we did all we could for someone to respond, we then decided that no one was going to answer, and we had to move on to the next move. If someone knows they are moving that day, that should at least be watching the truck and listening for a phone call even though I did give a courtesy call on June 29th to assure her we would be there. I still have to pay my men while they are out, even if I don't make a wage based upon a cancelled move. We left the residence after waiting a full 25 minutes. She then called and said she didn't hear either the phone or the buzzer. Her male friend asked how did we do the buzzer, and after explaining that we had the * key to end the call, he acknowledged that we did indeed ring the buzzer correctly. Then asked if we were coming back to move them, so we said probably not. We have been in business for over almost 30 years and realize certain red flags from past experiences. It is sometimes better to just cut your losses and move on, than to risk certain possible headaches. We did charge her for the one hour. This is standard procedure. My 2 employees verified that we did indeed go to her residence, called, waited, buzzed the apartment, and waited another 15 minutes for a response. Travel time is 20 minutes each way plus an additional 25 minutes of waiting for a total of 65 minutes. We charged 60 minutes.
