Movers to Go Reviews (14)

Review: On April [redacted], 2013 I entered into a contract with Movers to Go. The company sent movers to my home on May [redacted], 2013 to pick up my items. My items were suppose to be delivered to Washington state on July [redacted], 2013. I never heard from any reps; therefore I called the company to find out when my items would be delivered. I spoke to dispatcher manager [redacted] and he said your items were suppose to leave but our driver truck broke down so your items will be delivered on August [redacted], 2013. I requested to have this in writing. I never received the email I requested. [redacted] and [redacted] were both very rude and when I asked questions about the whereabouts of my items they hung up the phone on me. I requested to speak to the owner, they refuse to give me his name and number or relay my message off to him. August [redacted] rolls around still nothing. No items, I had another bad argument with [redacted] and [redacted]. Then [redacted] lied and told me my items were in Denver, Co and on their way to Washington. I asked for the drivers number. Never received the drivers number as requested. Then on August [redacted], [redacted] told me another company had my items and he gave me the company name(Roadway services) and a contact but refused to give me the number. .I spoke to Roadway services and asked for [redacted]; they said there is no [redacted] that works for them; they also said they do not have my items and they do not appreciate being lied on by Movers to go. Finally, I was able to get in contact with [redacted] the owner and he promised a callback which never happened. I was persistent with calling and finally was able to get [redacted] back on the phone on August [redacted], 2013. We agreed over the phone on Movers to go to send me an email with ETA of my items and the name and number of the company that will deliver my items. I received nothing and still today September [redacted], no call, no items and no email. I am floored at the level of neglect, lies and disrespect I have received as a customer. Below is 1 of several emails I sent to Movers to go [redacted], We spoke on Wednesday, August [redacted]. I requested several calls back from you regarding my shipment. Today is Friday August [redacted], 2013 and I have yet to receive a returned phone call from you or the email I requested stating who(company name) has my items, when will my items ems leave New York? ETA because I have already taking off two Fridays from work because [redacted] mentioned my items will be here on Friday, July [redacted] and again on Friday, August [redacted]. I wake at 5:30am every morning now to call your office to find out when will my items arrive. I am constantly treated poorly from your staff with the exception of [redacted]. I have been in shouting matches with [redacted] on several occasions and [redacted] just simply hung up the phone on me on Wednesday. I am constantly being placed on hold and promised that I will receive a simple email or a courtesy call back. I have yet to receive any of the above. Instead I am being bullied by the company who has a contract to ship my items. [redacted] you told me on both dates August ** & [redacted] that you would ensure that your secretary will send me an email with the ETA, Name of company and time. As of today, I haven't received this email. Urgent: I am requesting a response from you, 100% refund of what I paid which is $1033 and for my items to be shipped to me with an ETA and the name of the company that is delivering it and I would like to have phone numbers of the movers. I hope that we can resolve this matter as professionals and that we can both move on. Ignoring this email or me one of your customers is unacceptable and is not the service that you promisedDesired Settlement: I am requesting 100% refund and an Estimated time of arrival of my items in writing. I would also like a letter apologizing for the customer service I have received over the last 3 months. I would also like to be reimbursed for all of the items we had to replace such as bedding, clothes and dishes.

Review: I hired this company to pack and move my family from New Jersey to Alpharetta, Ga. I was quoted $2100 for the move/packing. When the team arrived on the day of the move, they told me the cost would be at least double. Upon completion that day, the cost was $6000. The foreman on the job told me he would contact the manager to lower the cost. He never did, and I paid $6000. Upon delivery, my items arrived broken and damaged. I took photos to document each item, and the damage totaled $738.09. I contacted the manager and the claims person 2 times with no answer. On the third time, I threatened to contact the Revdex.com. Someone left me a phone message saying the foreman would call me that night. He never called. I'm filing a complaint seeking the amount of damages.Desired Settlement: I expect a refund in the amount of $738.09

Sincerely,

Review: I really don't know where to start. I called Monday December [redacted] to set up a move for Friday the [redacted] for 8am. was quoted 50$ and told no additional fees. I called them around 8:30 explaining the reason why I needed them for 8am was because I had a business meeting at 3 for work and there response was they were running behind due to traffic. they arrived an hr later at 9:30 and begin to start moving my boxes and furniture. I explained the furniture was brand new and to please be careful. next thing you know, I see one of the movers in my hallway wearing my new Halloween costume and jumping around and joking with each other. not a joke here, I was really shocked they did that seeming how it was my property and in no way was I asked if they could wear it. regardless an hr later, Im walking down to the truck just to see what was taking so long and I see they dropped a piece of my furniture on the ground so I start freaking out a bit being that it given to me from my grandmother whos no longer around and it was shipped over to me from HK a few years back. they then tried to blame me for it saying I had stuff inside and that's the reason it was dropped. they also shortly after that told me no worries we have insurance. 5 hrs later because they were taking there sweet old time moving we were ready to pickup my couch which was located 1.8 miles away at a local storage unit. they asked me how much my couch cost and me not thinking answered the full price which was 6k. this will come into play later! we pick up the couch and start heading to my new apartment on [redacted] st. we arrive and the movers tell me its company policy to charge before unloading the truck. so I go get my 400$ because they were going to charge me for 8hrs for a one bedroom move. he provides me the receipt and it saids 825$ because there were 425$ of additional charges for insurance/stairs etc. first off, there were no stairs. both buildings have elevator and so does the storage unit. he then said if you don't want to pay we can put your stuff in storage and you can come pick it up when you have the full amount. at this point, ive already missed my meeting and after 8 hrs of moving I just wanted it to be over so I provide them with the amount they requested and started helping move everything in. an hr later they stated it was also company policy that after unloading everything in the lobby that I needed to check the truck and confirm it was empty but that they obviously would be moving everything from the lobby to my upstairs apartment and they would be providing the insurance details for the broken furniture to be replaced. I head up stairs as they start bring everything up to start setting up the bedroom and what not and I noticed they had not made a trip up yet so I head downstairs and look for them. yup to my surprise, they left and were no where to be found. I called 10 times and nothing. thank god people in my building were understanding because a few of them helped me because they felt bad for me so that was nice. my couch is now upstairs in my apartment but I was charged from my building $50 per day for my couch being in the lobby from Friday to sunday so 150$ total. Im really lost for words and would appreciate and help from Revdex.com. Thank you.Desired Settlement: at this point im seeking a full refund + the additional fees from my building and for the broken furniture. this company should not be in business as I can tell im not the first individual they have scewed over in the last 12 months.

Please ask this customer to provide details about this move including, receipts, names of movers. Basically all information in regards to this move.

Movers to Go has not been in operation for some time now and we did not provide moving service to this individual or any other individual over the last few weeks.

Review: We are in the process of moving and had received numerous quotes from various moving companies in the tri-state area. While obtaining quotes we talked with a guy named [redacted] who was very personable and professional and is an asset to this company. After reviewing all the options and pricing we decided on a particular company. Anytime a different company has called we politely told them that we had decided on a company already for our move and they would thank us and tell us to have a good day all while being cordial. Tonight we received a call from Movers to go LLC by [redacted]. I picked up the phone and before I could say hello he said Hello [redacted](my wife) when do you want us to pick up. We had never agreed to use them and never actually received the written estimate that [redacted] said he would send but that could just be an email issue. I tell [redacted] that we have already decided on a company and would not be needing their services. He cuts me off and say $950(well below the estimated verbal quote of $1200) and says when you want us to pick up. I again state that we have a company to which he says $945. I only again mention that we have already picked a moving company and he states well you can cancel their contract and again asks when we want our stuff picked up. At this point I hang up. He immediately calls right back and says this is [redacted] when do you want us to pick up. I tell him we have made our decision and end the call. He immediately calls right back again and I let him know that we want him to stop harassing us and that I will contact the Revdex.com. He calls right back a 4th time in less than 3 mins and we did not bother to answer this call and they left no message. This is a horrible practice for a company to make a habit of and if we had decided to use them this would have changed our minds. [redacted] is a valuable asset to the company but as long as [redacted] works there I will not recommend this company to anyone.Desired Settlement: I do not want this company to contact me further in this harassing manner of trying to bully people into using their service.

Review: This is not an advertisement issue however I was not able to select any other choices. This company is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. From the start they did not show up on the contracted day to pick up my items in NJ. They then were 4 days late dropping it off. When we called to check on the status of the truck, they demanded $1000 more than what I had signed for on my contract in order to deliver my things. They claimed that their employee who wrote up the contract was bad at math and did not get the dimensions right. When I said that I would not pay they told me that they would either not deliver it or simply take 300 cubic feet of my stuff off the truck and give it to one of their friends instead. Once the truck finally showed up at midnight 4 days later than promised, the movers were unprepared and could not see in the truck to get our things out. Once they finally started to unload the boxes it looked as if an elephant had trampled all over them or they were playing soccer with them. Much of the contents was broken and 7 boxes were missing. I am guessing that they delivered them to another family, because they attempted to deliver us someone else's dinning room set coffee table base and boxed items. When we told them that it was not ours they told us to keep it or throw it out even though I knew which family's it was because it had been on the truck when they initially picked up our things. When we asked what we should do about the missing and broken items they said to call on Monday morning and we could file a claim. We have called repeatedly and the person we are supposed to speak with, [redacted], is either not in or unavailable. This is going on 3 weeks.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed for the missing and broken items including a queen size mattress, a display shelf, rips in my sectional sofa, broken drawers from dresser, broken nightstand, dishes and glasses, ceramic pieces, additional contents, and 7 missing boxes.

Sincerely,

Review: The moving company has not delivered my belongings and they are currently not answering my phone calls. The telephone numbers listed have now been disconnected.Desired Settlement: I would like to know where my belongings are, I am willing to pick them up myself if they can't deliver them.

Review: After we had our items delivered to our new home, we discovered that there were items missing and broken. We filed a claim with the company and we were told that we would be getting a check. The claim was filed in July and I signed a Release and Settlement form on 8/*/2013. I was told that the check would be mailed to me, but it never was. I have been calling to try to speak to someone in the Claims department, but apparently, there is no claims department. They keep telling me to call back a week later when they should have a new person handling claims. This has gone on for far too long and having to wait this long is unacceptable. Especially when I have to keep calling them to find out the status of the claim. No one ever calls me to give me an update.Desired Settlement: I want this experience to go on record and I would like to have my claim settled. There is a check due to me in the amount of $185 and there is a chance that my missing items might have been delivered to the wrong address. The person I was working with promised they would be looking into this for me. I want an update on that as well.

Sincerely,

Review: This business is a scam. They quoted a price of $70 an hour for 3 movers, and then, after my stuff was loaded onto their truck 3 hours later, demanded that I pay $680 based on bogus charges or else they would drive away with my belongings. After I paid that amount they dumped my belongings on the sidewalk and sped away.Desired Settlement: I am owed $470 for the work they did not complete.

Review: In January, Movers To Go delivered my shipment with several boxes missing and other boxes damaged (rats had gotten into my boxes while they were in storage with Movers To Go). I had purchased the Full Value Protection plan which is supposed to cover the full market value of lost or damaged goods (up to $12,000). At first, Movers To Go said I had nothing to worry about--because I'd purchased the Full Value Protection plan I would get a full refund for the value of my goods. But then once I filled out a claim form and submitted it for processing, Movers To Go was very unresponsive. It took almost 4 months to get a verbal offer from them for the settlement value, which was less than 10% of the claim value. When I demanded a written offer and insurance policy details to take to my lawyer, Movers To Go blew me off constantly, to the point where I was calling them once or twice a week for months with no response. It's now been 11 months since the delivery of my goods, and I have yet to receive a written settlement offer to resolve my insurance claim.Desired Settlement: I expect a formal claim settlement offer in writing, and if a reasonable settlement is not provided, I expect them to go forward with an Arbitration hearing.

Review: They didnt tell us that it could be 30 days for delivery. It took 3 1/2 week and then all Item wasnt delivered, then they gave us the run-a-around. we had to pay extra for delivery up 3rd floor. also the hung up the phone on me twice ([redacted]) the sale man [redacted] couldnt be reach after they pick up my belonging. so finally they said I could put in a claim and I never got claim formDesired Settlement: refund of some cash for something like pots that can be found in stores and replacement for large item like fish tank stand

Review: Contracted with Movers to Go LLC to pick-up, store, and deliver household goods from Pennsylvania to Florida. Company picked up our items and was supposed to store our personal belongings in a secure, climate-controlled location until they were delivered to our new residence in FL. While our items were in storage, we frequently contacted Movers to Go to verify our goods were being stored safely and were in good condition.

When items arrived, it was evident that the items were in very poor condition and would be unusable. Many items had been damaged by water and rodents, with mold and mildew on nearly all items. A LIVE RAT was actually inside one of our boxes and was delivered to our new home and jumped out in our neighborhood. Nearly all of our beds, couches, household goods, and furniture were either moldy, covered in mildew, or chewed on and defecated on by rodents. The owner, [redacted], had confirmed verbally that there was a water leak in the storage facility where our items were being kept.

After calling repeatedly for several weeks - and being told there was an insurance claim filed on our behalf - the owner [redacted] is non-responsive and we are still without furniture, beds, or clothing that we had to pay to be hauled away because it was a health hazard.Desired Settlement: Complete refund of fees charged for secure, climate-controlled storage PLUS

Replacement cost of goods that were submitted on claim form directly to [redacted] P Czobel, President (the owner)at Movers to Go LLC.

Storage fees = $4268 + Itemized damaged goods have been given to Movers to Go .

Review: A lot of damage was done to furniture moved from NY to our CA home of approximately $6000.00, claim form was submitted back on 10/**/12 and I kept getting the round around with excuses of not getting the form or the person that we needed to talk to was unavailable. Last time that we resent the form including pictures of the damaged done was on July [redacted]of 2013, we spoke to [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted] the manager.

Last time we spoke to someone was on December [redacted], and we were told that [redacted] the manager was not available, we always left our number to have them call us back but they never did.

Now the phone is disconnected and there is no other number to callDesired Settlement: We would like to get a refund to replace or repair some of the items that can still be repair.

Review: I had movers to go services pick up my furniture on july *, 2013 and was told my furniture will be delivered in 3-5 business days. I did not receive my furniture until the [redacted], and when I received my furniture it was all broken up like my television and tv stand, bed rails and etc... items were missing like my sofa and a bunch of other things. Here it is august **, 2013 and I still have not received my sofa, my missing boxes, bed rails, tv stand and lots of other items. Everytime I call I get different excuses from the moving company causing me and my family to wait over the amount of time on the contract and we had to sleep on the floor for two weeks because they did not deliver my bed.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my entire cost that I paid them to move because they did not deliver all items and what was delivered was all broken up and I have pictures. I also want a refund for my damaged items.

Response:

It's stated on the contract that Movers to go is allowed 30 days for delivery. [redacted] signed this contract and we delivered her belongings before the 30 days limit. [redacted]'s sofa and 2 boxes were found and is being delivered to her.

Review: My wife and I were excited about our upcoming move to Chicago until the movers showed up. The movers showed up over 5 hours late. They where unprofessional, rude, and didn't complete the task they where hired to do. After showing up five hours late they didn't accomplish any other task we agreed to. We spoke to the manager about wardrobe boxes and also about leaving clothing in the dresses. Neither of which were accurate. We were forced to pack clothing into boxes and wardrobe boxes were not provided. Also I asked about taking the air conditioning untie out of the window. They told me that it was ok to leave in and putting them into the truck at the end wasn't a problem. That was a lie. They also took a nap on our couch while two other movers decided how to move it. The main reason we went with this company is because they told us, in writing, that they would have our belongings delivered to our new address by Saturday July **. They now are holding our things ransom demanding another 1000$ for delivery. They not only haven't fulfilled any part of their contract, I have to have another mover bring all the stuff they left behind. All items accounted for in there intial estimate, but then they said they where out of room. They are scam artists and haven't completed one task we agreed upon. I would like my stuff brought back with a full refund. I will drive it out myself they have proven to be untrustworthy and I don't want to continue to do business with them. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: Full refund and a written apology. Return of all belongings

So it seems the move from hell continues. I will be waiting to go to court with Movers to Go. I look forward to exposing them for the con artists that they all are. My wife and are also finishing up a list of items stolen from us by Movers to Go. I can not believe the arrogance of this company. What they put us through for over the last month has been difficult, and a hard lesson learned about the practices of "Moving Companies"
