Review: I hired movers who quoted me for $50 per hour for two movers. I read a terrible [redacted] review after booking them that said they held things hostage after arriving at new place, demanding gas money, insurance, and several other charges. I called to confirm this wasn't their practice, and the main guy [redacted] assured me that I was only to pay for the $50 per hour plus a tip of my choosing. I should have read the writing on the wall. After packing everything up and arriving at my new apartment, they told me I owed $307. We were less than two hours in, but he was projecting it would take 4 hours, plus a $40 charge for gas, $30 charge for insurance, and taxes. When I called back [redacted] to clarify, he screamed and cussed at me, then hung up the phone. I felt personally threatened by the mover, so I drained my bank account and gave him $300. They finished in 40 minutes (instead of the projected 2 more hours). When I said, "ok so you owe me $50 for that last hour, which I will give you part of as tip," the mover said that the money was already agreed upon and that it didn't go to them. He demanded a tip. I felt coerced into saying they could just keep the $50 and split it as tip with the other mover, but he demanded I pay additional tip on top of the hour I paid for labor that they didn't use. I asked him to discuss it on the sidewalk instead of in my apt. We did this while the other guy sneaked upstairs and was in my apt. I was able to get them to leave without paying any more money (which was good because I emptied my Checking). I thought about calling the cops halfway through them unloading, but didn't want to cause any more problems. As an aside, my roommate unknowingly used them per my suggestion (before I used them), and they kept him waiting at his NJ storage unit for over 7 hours.Desired Settlement: I'm not sure if the address I put is valid, but the phone number certainly is. I would like the $50 back from the 4th hour that I was charged, despite them only taking 2 hours and 40 minutes. I would also like the money back for the gas, insurance, and tax that I never agreed to. If anything, I would mostly like for them to be stopped from doing this to other people.

Sincerely,

Review: I hired these movers only based on the fact that their [redacted] ad said that they accepted cards (bottom of the picture), and that they only costed 75$/hour for 3 men. When I called to make a reservation, the man quoted me that it would be 75$/hour and that was it. Not only were the movers 3 hours late, but they didn't give us the 3 men that were advertised for the first hour. Finally when we got to the storage unit (they were an hour late to), they wouldn't unload our stuff until we paid them in cash only. They billed us 800$, which did not add up for 75$ per hour for only 4 hours of total moving (including into the storage unit). After three girls cried for about 45 minutes, he gave us a discount and had to pay 600$, but that still did not add up to the total hours of moving.Desired Settlement: 300$

Review: We hired Movers to Go to move a couch from Manhattan to Queens. We were told by "[redacted]" that our couch would be wrapped with moving blankets and saran wrapped to protect it, then moved to it's destination in Queens for a flat fee of $125. When the movers showed up in Queens, they demanded to be paid $150 before they'd unload the couch. When the couch was unloaded, it was not wrapped with blankets as promised and the couch was damaged - corners were scuffed and ripped and a big scuff mark was on the side. When we called "[redacted]" we were sworn at and hung up on. Now, we have a damaged couch they've refused to repair.Desired Settlement: The company has a responsibility to honor what they promised to do. They didn't and now I have a very expensive piece of furniture damaged. I demand, at minimum, a refund for the service I didn't receive and money to repair my couch.

Review: While the movers were carrying out my couch, not only did they make huge dents in the walls, they hit and broke a sprinkler on the third floor and it went off uncontrollably. They dropped the couch in the stairwell standing up and ran out of the building, driving the moving truck away with all of my belongings. The couch was ruined and the sprinkler drenched dark the couch and carpet with water and mold. There were floods on the 2nd and 1st floors seeping into the tenants apartments. They did not notify me of the sprinkler breakage and let the sprinkler run for over approx. 30 minutes. I called the movers repeatedly to come back, remove the couch. and clean up the mess. They told me their employees were no longer available and could not come back because "they would get wet". They also said three of the four employees ran because they did not want to be liable. Even though it is stated on their website that they are insured. The only people I could get in contact with were the driver and the "dispatcher" The driver refused to deliver my belongings that evening after they ran off, basically hijacking my things. He promised they would deliver them in the morning to my new address. The following morning they dumped my belongings on the street outside of the new apartment, and called me saying to "come get my stuff before someone steals it."

We do not know the full extent of the damage to the apartment building, but the super had to pull out all the carpet to remove the mold and water damage, hire electricians to turn power off and on after the flood, and a plumber to fix the sprinkler.Desired Settlement: Would like a settlement for damage to building: carpet, walls and couch. Would like business license to be revoked and possible legal action for attempting to steal my belongings.
