Missing items..not able to reach a resolution with [redacted].I was moved by this company over the weekend of March 30th. A different crew was sent out because [redacted] had a prior move scheduled. The two men moved my things from [redacted] to [redacted] in Springfield. I left the movers with directions of what was to be moved and where to put it at the new house. Upon arrival I found everything had been placed in my basement. I had some items that were to be disposed of at the old address and the movers said not to worry that they would take care of it for me. I left them with a key to lock up and meet me at the new place. after a two to three week period of unpacking and sorting through my things I began to discover missing items.I later discovered a bag of things that was to be discarded in my basement.I began to wonder if there had been some kind of mix up. Maybe the items that were missing had been stolen or discarded by the workers assigned to this job. I contacted MHA who advised me to file a police report.I contacted the company [redacted] who was very rude and nasty to both myself and fiance on two different occasions. At this point I mailed a certified letter along with the police report to no avail. I have since contacted MHA to arrange a meeting to resolve the issue at hand I have yet to be contacted by either MHA or the [redacted] of the moving company. I am extremely upset and hurt, I feel violated at the fact that the [redacted] did not care to hear me out. Some of the items that have been stolen or thrown away cannot be replaced because they were given to me by family members who are no longer alive, these things had sentimental value. Desired SettlementThe items that were stolen or thrown away are as follows, Kodak Camera:$180, SIlver Antique Coins(priceless):$500, Nintendo 3DS$400, Junior clothing$150(8 pairs of jeans)and(6 shirts)and a T-Mobile Smartphone $300 Business' Initial Response I did respond to your first Email, I also tried calling but was told you were all on training for the week. We did move [redacted], she packed her own stuff and unpacked her own stuff. She made accusations of theft before she even unpacked a box and told us she wouldn't know what was missing until she unpacked. She never accused us of unpacking or delivering open boxes just that she couldn't accuse us until she unpacked. She filled out a Police Report which the Police never even followed up on (I'm guessing because she never accused us of opening her boxes, just that until she opens them, she won't know whats missing) I do know from the Property manager where she lived that she left alot of stuff behind that they had to dispose of. Her boyfriend even commented to my guys how unprepared she was for this move. Anything we did dispose of was under her guidance or her Boyfriends. When this had all first started, I contacted the [redacted] but it was out of their hands. The lady didn't even inform us till five weeks later and then I believe another several weeks went by before we seen a copy of what was missing and a Police report. We still haven't been called or questioned by the Police, nor have we heard from M.H.A. or [redacted] to have a sit down. We've been doing this a long time and have been working with M.H.A. for many years and have never had any problems or issues. This is a First. My biggest question since this began is, " if she packed her own stuff, never accused us of opening or unpacking anything of hers, and then she unpacked her own stuff, how could she accuse us of stealing before she unpacked?" Thank You and please contact me with confirmation of my response. [redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXX. Again Thank You Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)In response I did in fact leave this in the hands of my case worker from MHA. She was then told that she could not be involved any longer because I have since graduated the program. Yes this was a hard move for me due to bedbugs. So I do not believe what he states about management saying I left things behind.I did not have enough time to pack and seal my the boxes that I did have and most of my things were in bags, bags that were being filled when they arrived. By the way I have pictures of the apartment(all cleaned out) if needed. It is taking me some time to gather the required information to prove my case because I recently had surgery and a car accident. I and my boyfriend have tried to speak with [redacted], he came off very defensive and rude both times. My worker from MHA was suppose to schedule a sit down, but could not find the proper time since my surgery and accident. I have been willing from day one to talk with [redacted] about the matter at hand. I would just like to take care of this matter and put it behind me...Thank you [redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXXBusiness' Final Response As I said before, I didn't know anything till about 5 weeks after move when [redacted] called me to accuse us of stealing. I said I didn't know what she was talking about, she said MHA would get ahold of me. Conversation lasted about 30 seconds, I wasn't rude, more confused. When boyfriend called 4 or 5 weeks later, he started with I have a list for you of the things that were stolen, I was again confused, he explained who he was and I then informed him that I have not heard from anyone and could he have someone from MHA please call me. Again I wasn't rude, just confused again. Someone from MHA did call finally, I explained my self and made the offer first of having a sit down. MHA informed me that [redacted] did not want to at that time. I have wanted to sit down with my guys and her and her boyfriend and figure this out. The story keeps changing and theres nothing more I am Gonna do. I haven't heard from MHA or Police or Ms.[redacted] or her boyfriend. Thank You
