I contacted Howz it flowin to test my backflowI don't want to give my credit card info over the phone, but they won't do the job without being paid firstThey mandate payment before doing the work and left a message more than a week later that the backflow failed because there was an ant pile and plants in the wayI don't live at the property & haven't been there in yearsMy husband went over there and moved plants out of the wayIt wasn't that difficultHowz it flowin was going to charge another full price service charge to go out there again, and the girl answering the phone was very rudeNo customer service skills at allWe have used them before so we were not a first time customerWill not use againThe next company we used went and did the job in a couple days & sent me a bill

My experience is similar to the one shared by a customer in September My husband and I first contacted Howz IT Flowin when we first moved to FL and received a notice from Manatee County regarding the backflow inspection Our backflow happens to be slightly on our neighbor's property and our neighbor has planted alot around the backflow device In as much, the first time the technician came out, I met with him and asked him if there was anything we needed to do to clear the area around the backflow The technician told me no and that there company could perform the testing with no issue We paid our invoice as soon as it was received and everything was fine The next year I received a call from the company saying I had to pay ahead of time or they would not perform the inspection I did so and there was no issue This year, I again received the invoice which demanded payment before the inspection was done I then received a failure notification as there was a branch in the way which the company stated prevented them from performing the test I was very surprised as (1) they specifically told us we did not need to do anything regarding the vegetation and (2) we had actually cleared the area out a bit over the past few years In addition, we were home and no one had the courtesy to come speak with us even though we have paid every invoice as soon as it was received The company never provided any information regarding any sort of clearance required by Manatee County They also said they were going to charge us again to come out When I called the office, the receptionist and Office Manager were very rude and essentially called me a liar I have reported this experience with the county and would advise other residents to avoid this company We called another company used by most of our neighbors and they were polite, courteous, told us what they would need and did the job with no issue

I was reading the reviews as I have been with Howz It Flowin for 5 years.About 3 years ago I was sent a notice stating they would change their policy regarding accepting payment before work is preformed I contacted the office and they explained to me they were going green and because of non payment ( not us) but because of the delinquent payments and putting test results in at time of test this is how the program would work. .The office contacted us this year about our failed backflow they stated because of bushes. The young lady on the phone explained that there should be a 2 ft clearance as Manatee county requires a 3 ft clearance. I then told my husband and he went to look for backflow that was deep in our bush, we now understand why this would need to be taken care of as the technician came out the next day and tested our backflow with an extra charge. They have put this on there bill about the clearance. I as a customer do not understand the complaints of these people as everyone has a job to do, let them do it.

Howz It Flowin is very knowledgeable and very willing to discuss a situation with the customer. Exceedingly customer friendly.

They used a bait and switch tactic to charge more than the quote by not informing homeowners of vegetation clearances on the day of testing or in advance, and then marking the sites as "failed" and requiring extra fees to test again - even though no test was ever actually performed to begin with. No opportunity to correct the situation was offered on the day of "inspection". They simply walked away with the intent to collect extra fees to return.
