Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have enclosed several photos of the work that MrM [redacted] and his associate completed at my home MrM [redacted] asserts that I will not let him back to "finish" the job that they started but did not have an opportunity to complete because of my poor behavior I included a photo of the ceiling The contractor that I consulted after MrM [redacted] and his associate left states that in years he had never seen anything like their work There was no way to "fix" the ceiling It needed to be taken down and the materials scrapped The covers need to be removed from the recessed lights and the drywall installed correctly There was "mud" missing from some spots of the drywall tape The two men started the ceiling first (on Saturday)When they were finishing Saturday night I expressed concern I was told they were going to fix it When they came back on Sunday instead of completing the ceiling and with very humid conditions although a dehumidifier was in place - the two men started the floor Before finishing the floor, they started to put up trim as you can see from the pictures Also you can see that in addition to not being mitered, the trim was not cut correctly and there were gaps Again this resulted in the materials having to be scraped not finished.I want my deposit back In a money order so MrM [redacted] cannot cancel it I would consider the matter closed when I receive my deposit of $1,back and will walk away with a loss of the $materials The railing was cut short so Mr [redacted] 's assertion that he was putting it up with the idea to finish at a later date is contradicted by his work I need new materials to finish the job If it was put up to be out of the way they I should be able to use the materialsI cannot Regards, [redacted] ***

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.1) the railing on the front steps was installed in a substandard manner. My homeowners insurance which is requiring railing be installed will not accept the substandard installation of the railing. I have contracted with Lowes who is installing a new railing - they have substantiated that the railing was installed improperly and needs to be replaced at a cost of $800.2) Zac is correct I was not there when he and his partner arrived I texted him to call me when he did arrive. The two had installed drywall on the ceiling the day before and did not bother to remove the casing from the recessed lighting and just cut squares around it. I asked them to fix it and was told that I need to buy the finishing cases which were already on the lights. The contractor who I have asked to look at the area said it was the worst drywall installation in his 30 years of experience. 3) If the two were going for a box frame around my doors there should be square pieces where the framing ends but there are not. Also they used door casings are on backwards and used the door casing for baseboards. He put up the baseboard before the floor was installed so there are gaps between the wall and the floor.4) The railing on the stairs in the basement - it was improperly installed. Again not enough nails or the depth required to secure the posts on the steps. One railing was twisting instead of cutting it down to size. The other is ruined as now there are nails through the side of the handrail and not able to be used again.5) Zac pursued me to ask if there was any work for him and his 'partner' I do feel like I was targeted and taken advantage of. I would like my down payment back. I certainly told him I would reimburse him for items bought. When it was decided I did not want the stain - I told him to take it back. He has $1,200 of my money that they took knowing they could not do the work. 6) The floor tiles are completely ruined - without rebuying all of the tiles again there is no way the floor can be "fixed." 7) He sent me the cashier's check and when I thanked him he informed me that he had put a stop payment on it and taunted me to "try and cash it" Regards, [redacted] ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Once again I am not judging anything...according to contractors one part of a job is completed before you begin on the next For instance, the ceiling would have been completed, then the floor then the trim - this was affirmed by at least other contractors I am glad that M&P Specialty is ceasing operations and I hope that MrM*** does not offer services under another name I did not expect them to do the right thing and return to me the money that they owe me because I consider him and his partner con artists I do not believe I am the only person that they have scammed out of money You have seen the pictures of the work that they did in my home - the materials were ruined...there was no way to finish the room after what they did I asked them to fix the mess - MrM*** and his partner left that was their response

This is in response to Melanie *** complaint dated 8/18/The railing on the front steps was installed so that it could be up and was not completedIt did need to be cut miter style and put in placeAs I was getting ready to do so it began to storm and I told Miss*** I would complete it, but that day she belittled us, cursed at us, and yelled at us like childrenWe then decided to leave for the day and return to finish the job railing includedMiss *** then refused the services and said she does not want us in the houseNothing about this job is finishedAbout the casing for the lighting we were told that there covers for the lighting that was the same as the covers in the adjoining room as the lighting was the sameWe never told Miss. *** that she would have to buy the coversThe ceiling is not done, it needs to be sanded, re taped, and re sanded again before paintThe day that all of this perspired the putty had not dried so we could not sand itAgain we told this to Miss*** before she kicked us off the propertyThis job is not finished which would be why it looks the way it doesThe trim was done before the floorWhen Miss*** came down and said she wanted it Mitered we told her that we would do it and not have a problem doing it for herAlso when she came down I was still working on the trim, going back and making the trim lower as the floor was laidAgain the trim is not done and was still be completedMiss*** was the one who approached me about the work first in our work settingI then contacted her seeing if she still wanted the work done after weeks of no response after each timeThis is a common practiceThe floor was still wet after a dehumidifier had been placed in the roomMiss*** was not available at the beginning of the floor being laid to ask if it was alright to put it downWe told her daughter who was home that it probably could be put down but it might not lay correctlyThe floor did lay correctlyThe edges were rough cut and we were going to go back with the extra flooring which Miss*** still has and cut them smooth to make them look betterThe floor most of all was nowhere near done before Miss*** refused our servicesI did send Miss*** a cashiers check, after I sent it I talked to business professionals about the problem and was told to cancel the check if possibleI was told by the bank that there was a process and that they would try their best to cancel it before it was receivedI then told Miss *** out of courtesy to her that the check had been cancelledShe then states "cashiers checks cannot be cancelled" I simply said "okay then go cash it" I was not taunting her I just thought the cancellation did not go through because she said that they could not be cancelledAfter this all happened Miss *** texted me repeatedly about the issueWhen told Iwas on vacation with my family she simply said “I don't care" and continued to harass meTo which I replied "I am on vacation with my family we can talk about this another time" She then did not reply and texted me weeks later saying " hope you had a nice vaca on my dime" I have these texts on file and can send them in upon request

I would like to respond to Miss***' Claims by stating that she did indeed contact us to do work for her on all the things she stated within her claimWhen we arrived on Saturday morning we began to work on the drywallWe put all the drywall up and then began to mudWe ran out of drywall
mud and told her that we would be back to finish the job the next dayAt this time we asked Miss *** if we bought more materials would she compensate us the next dayShe said yesUpon arriving the next day we found that the putty had not set and we needed to wait longer for it to drySo we finished the puttying that we had to do and hoped to take the day to make sure it was dry enough to sandAt this time Miss*** was not homeI then began the trim while my partner Zack P*** started on the floorWhen doing the trim I did it in picture frame style and did not miter the corners because Miss*** did not tell us she wanted it otherwise and could not be reachedWhile he was completing the floor I went and worked on the outside stepsI laid down new steps and put up the railings just before a storm hitBy this time Miss *** had returned homeShe asked me about the steps and told me she would like the railings a different wayI responded to her and told her that would not be a problem I just could not do them in the rain(I never told her about any glue, because there was never any glue used on the steps project) I then returned inside to help finish the rest of the floorI also put up a railing in the basement; I hung it for safety issues to get it out of our wayIt still needed cut and set so it was not doneAt this time, Miss*** Came down the stairs yelling at us and belittling us like we were children, we asked her to stope speaking to us in that tone of voice and explained to her that the job was not complete and that was the reason it looks the way it doesShe continued to yell, scream, and curse at usAt that point we decided we could no longer work in an environment like that for the dayUpon leaving we expressed to Miss *** that job was not finished and that we would come back to finish the job and fix anything she did not see as being correctShe agreed that both sides were frustrated and that we could come back and complete the jobThe next day Miss*** reached out to me through text and said that she would like a refund of the half up front that she gave us so she could have someone else "fix" the basementI reiterated to her that the job was not done and that we would come and finish itShe said no she wanted someone else to come fix itTherefore she broke the verbal contract we hadWe had offered to finish and "fix" any problems there wasMiss*** will not let us finish the job nor does she want us at her houseThe job is not completedWe also have text messages where she said she did not want us to finish, and where she said she would reimburse us for materialsWith that being said I had sent out a cashier's check and rethought the processI then decided to cancel the cashier's check because I talked to business savvy professionalsUpon hearing from then I have decided Miss*** will not be receiving a refund of her money as work was completed at her household, she did not let us finish said work, and she broke the verbal contract by not letting us finish the jobAttached to this you will find copies of the text messages where she stated she did not want us to finish the job after we offered to as well as a copy of the text where she said she would compensate us for materialsYou will also find a copy of the original receipt Miss*** signed saying she would pay half up front at d a copy of the Lowes receipt with proof of the money we spent on materials that were left at her residenceI would like to thank the Revdex.com for their time and if there are any further questions please feel free to contact M&P Specialty Builders.
