do not recall having received a call, and I did not find any emails from/to Mr. [redacted], other than the email I sent him with the report attached on 11/16/2012.
As a property inspector, I do a visual inspection of a home, including the roof, foundation, structure, and the operation of the fixtures and appliances. I have never operated the pressure relief valve on a hot water heater as it is not part of the inspection. The hot water inspection includes a visual-only inspection of the flue, strapping, water supply lines, location, age, and size of the water heater.
The purpose of a property inspection report is to protect the seller and inform the buyer. Sometimes a seller is disappointed to discover imperfections and/or problems with their home.

On or around 1/15/2013, I left you a voice mail on your cell phone detailing my concern with your report and requested a telephone call to discuss making the necessary correction to your boilerplate template. That telephone call was never returned.
The email sent by my seller, Mr. [redacted] on December 13, 2012 say it adequately; "It galls me to pay [redacted] for incompetence and inaccurate reporting with zero accountability for his slip/shod ignorance of codes. The guy created damage in my home and skates." As a result of this conversation, I paid for the report.
As I stated in my first correspondence, I do not expect a refund, nor any apology, but as an affiliate of San Mateo County Association of Realtors, which I have been a member in good standing since 1989, I was encouraged by my board to pursue this avenue.
Mr. [redacted] you may not value my business and may not care that I will never use your services again, but you need to take accountability for your action, or in this case inaction, and own up to your mistake.

Friday, September 24th, I called Mr [redacted] He explained that he what he wanted was an apology for not returning his call on or about January 15, 2013.
Even though I have no record of the call, I truly believe the call was made by Mr [redacted] I apologize for not returning the call. Even though that is generally the time I take for vacation, I pride myself on returning all calls. I did not return that one, and am truly sorry.
I suggested that I return half the cost of the inspection, but Mr. [redacted] did not think that was necessary. He accepted my apology. I am however, sending a check out today for half of the inspection payable to Mr. [redacted]
