Mr. Appliance of Scottsdale

Company rep called the day before the appointment and gave me a specific time. After waiting over an hour past the time, I called the company and cancelled the appointment. The Company rep said the appointment time he gave was a "window", however that's not what he said the day before. There seems to be a problem with accurate communication from other complaints I've read about this company. The company website has a section about how they recognize the importance of the customer's time and accurate service scheduling. Not so in actual practice. They wasted my morning getting ready for their service.

I just wanted to write a quick review of our service by Mr. Appliance of Phoenix and more specifically the Technician, [redacted]...... he is amazing! I would not use or recommend anyone else. He is extremely professional, puts the covers on his shoes, uses the mat, and quickly assesses the repair! Moreover, I never have to call him back because he gets it right the first time!!! His professionalism and promptness is something very rare in a service person and we appreciate him! Your business is lucky to have him!

I was told the service call would be $74.98 and then after microwave was diagnosed could choose to have it fixed with additional cost or pay the $74.98 service call fee. Since it was only two switches and I had checked pricing on these from and authorized Dacor parts supplier ($35 price quote) before Mr. Appliance arrived, I never imagined it would cost more than $130. I had the same thing replaced in 08 by a Dacor authorized company and it cost $100 parts and labor included.

Mr. Appliance repairman was here 40 minutes fixed 2 door switches. I was charged $60 for the switches and $145.76 for labor. The hourly fee for Mr. Appliance is $194.12. If I had been told this when I called in and not led to believe it was $74.98 I would have never had them come out. I would have bought a new microwave.

The owner did call to try to rectify he offered $10 back on the switch or he could send out the repairman to remove the switches and I would still pay $74.98. The repairman did fix my microwave but I just wanted to give other consumers the heads up so they can ask what the hourly rate is. They did fix it in a timely manner, but I guess quoting a service call price then switching it to huge hourly rate is a new standard business practice which I was unaware of. Now I know:(

This company uses deceptive price tactics..... BEWARE.

They told me the cost to come to my home and assess the problem with my dryer was $76. And that would be deducted from the service fee.

In fact the $76 was waived not deducted and then they charged $135 for 15 minutes of labor to remove a nickel that worked it's way behind the drum!!! I called them and was told that $135 is their standard service fee! I will NEVER use them again and I'm telling all my friends not to.
