Mr. Bill's Landscaping, Inc Reviews (1)

Upon return from deployment, I found my lawn had been scalped and a tree nearly dead. Mr. Bill's has not returned any of my multiple calls or emails. Mr. Bill's was hired in February of 2013 to provide lawn services while I was deployed. The agreed upon services were: twice monthly mowing, edging, sprinkler adjustment, and care for a sapling in the center of the yard. Upon return from my deployment in September of 2013, I found a ten foot by 3 foot section of grass had been mowed down to the dirt (scalped). Also, a large branch from a tree had broken from a windstorm months earlier and was still laying in the yard which resulted in the 8 foot by 4 foot section of grass beneath it to die from not getting water or light. Mr. Bill's had previously agreed to remove it. (A neighbor informed me immediately after the storm, and I in turn had Mr. Bill's notified). Also, the sapling in the center of the yard was nearly dead from underwatering. Additionally, the irrigation system wasn't even powered on when I returned home! I had been notified of some of the problems about a week prior to returning from Afghanistan. I contacted Mr. Bill's and setup a date for him to meet me at my home to resolve the issue. When I did return home and tried to contact him, he didn't answer any of my multiple phone calls or emails. I even went by his place of business and when no one answered, I left a note asking him to call me. I am utterly disgusted with the quality of service rendered. Moreover, I'm disgusted by the lack of customer service, especially after toting on their website how customer oriented they are, and how they are committed to resolving problems and complaints. It is obvious that Mr. Bill's has been avoiding me because they know I'm upset about the quality of their workmanship. Desired SettlementI feel it is perfectly reasonable to request a full refund in the amount of $400.00, and be refunded an additional $100 dollars for the sod and fertilizer I had to purchase and the work I had to put in to repair my lawn after the damage caused by Mr. Bill's Landscaping.Business Response /[redacted]/When I met with Mr. [redacted] in March, 2013 following his call to request service, the only request he made to me was to mow the lawn every two weeks. He never mentioned anything about any additional service or his plans for deployment. It is our practice to record Date and Time of each service performed and in checking my records we did in fact mow his lawn on the following dates: 3/19, 4/3, 4/17, 5/1, 5/15, 5/29, 6/13, 6/26, 7/11, 7/24, 8/7, 8/24, and 9/4. He may have been deployed, however his wife was at the residence and never once did she address any concern at any time with our service. I did speak via telephone with Mr.[redacted] on 9/11 when he expressed his concern with the small tree being stressed. His complaint was that we should have watched over his entire landscape while he was deployed. However, I did not know he was deployed, and he never communicated that he was to be deployed nor did he ask for any additional services during his absence. As for the scalped area. First it was a very small area that was actually an uneven turf area in the back yard and I don't dispute that we may have done this, but it was totally an accident and it was because of this unusually rough turf area in his yard. Also I did not charge him for the final service we provided in September as a good will gesture and compensation for this accident. In response to his request for full refund. I totally disagree. We mowed his lawn 13 times from March through September. The first complaint was communicated after these 13 services were performed. I would also like to add that Mr. [redacted] made an unannounced appearance at my home and left a threating note, when he found that I was not there. I have turned his note over to law enforcement.
