I am the Exhibits Curator of a Children's Museum in New England and had the pleasure of working with Mr. Butterflies this past summer of 2019. They provided us with live butterflies once a week throughout the duration of the summer. Prior to receiving a shipment I would receive an email with a tracking number, to be able to see where our shipment was currently located, which was incredibly useful as it allowed us ensure we had butterflies for our public programs. All butterflies arrived alive and in good condition packaged individually in envelopes. Susan, was incredibly easy to work with and was always prompt with her responses via email and phone. I would highly recommend working with Mr. Butterflies and look forward to working with them again in coming summers.

Susan was really easy to work with, the envelopes she made for our event were beautiful and the Monarch butterflies were gorgeous. Everyone is still talking about how special a butterfly release was to take part in. I can't wait to use Mr. Butterflies again!

True Story: I ordered butterflies for a funeral. They never arrived and the company would not return emails or phone calls. I could hardly believe it. I definitely don't want this to happen to another person so I feel obligated to share my story.

MrButterflies strives to avoid negative experiences. I want to assure you that the butterflies were shipped out on schedule. UPS tracking ending in XXXXXXXXXX. When I created the shipping label there was an UPS tracking e-mail sent to the customers. It appears that UPS attempted delivery late on September 19 but were unable to make the delivery. The butterflies were finally delivered the following Monday. I understand that this was long after the funeral. This was a problem with shipping which does occasionally happen. It is the customers responsibility to have someone at the destination to receive the package and to call UPS when there is a delivery problem.
This is the very first that I heard about *** shipping problem. She stated that she tried to call, I checked my call log and saw NO attempted call were made. We had been communicating via e-mail prior to the shipment problem and yet I never received an e-mail telling me that she did not receive her butterflies. MrButterflies does have a guarantee, so I find it strange that I wasn't contacted directly.

I want to thank Mrbutterflies for their attention to this issue and working with me to resolve this matter.
The root of the problem was with UPS, unfortunately, and I think that MrButterflies and I were both equally surprised at that. It was not Mrbutterflies fault that I did not receive the package when it should have been delivered as promised by UPS. However, MrButterflies did everything they could to make things right in the end. I am grateful for their understanding and sympathy during this process.

MrButterflies.com is an excellent choice for your wedding or other special event. The butterflies arrive with instructions on how to get them ready, and are wrapped safely and securely. We contracted with them for our wedding, and were not disappointed. We released them in honor of my grandmother, who has passed, because she loved monarch butterflies. It was beautiful. One of them landed on my bouquet. The pictures, I'm sure, will be amazing!

Our butterflies were beautiful! They all flew and made our commemoration of Yom Hashoah so meaningful. We will definitely use Mr. Butterflies again.

We ordered butterflies for my wedding to release during the ceremony. Mr. Butterflies had great instructions and I called (the instructions were clear I was just nervous) and she answered promptly and instantly answered any questions I had. I would suggest to designate someone to help you as you do have to be home at the time of arrival, keep them cool and have to "warm them up" at the proper time. They are live bugs so detailed care and attention are required but I think they were worth the effort - they really wowed the crowd and was an unexpected element to our ceremony.

FUNERAL BUTTERFLIES: I don't usually give reviews but I just had to let people know the service you are about to receive, especially if you're stressed out planning for an unexpected funeral for your mother. First, I would like to say that initially, working with Susan from Mr. Butterflies was a good experience (read the full review to know why it went from good to bad). Although I ordered the butterflies in advance, the butterflies were going to be sent overnight, per SOP. This short time leaves a lot of room for error. So I called and emailed multiple times in advance to confirm that the butterflies would arrive on time. The day that it was going to arrive, there was an issue with delivery and will not be delivered until the next day, which was going to be the funeral day! Also, it was also going to be delivered, after the funeral time. Susan told me to call FedEx to work it out, which I did but did not really go anywhere, so I called her back to see what they could do and what their policy was in the case of this event.

THIS IS WHERE IT WENT BAD: Susan CURSED on the phone to me (a customer) as she was confused about where these butterflies were to be delivered. Yes, it was to be delivered at the funeral home (as it states in the order form, emails, and verbal confirmations) as I planned to have everything delivered and transported from there. The service is at a different location that cannot accept packages at certain times. She did not understand this and was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL and insensitive at a time of me and my family grieving over the loss of our mother. I explained this to her and she said she would try to call FedEx and work it out herself instead of constantly saying "We did our part, it's not our fault ...where do you want these Da*** things delivered." As a business owner myself, you have to learn to work with customers, be professional, and to establish contingency plans for worse case scenarios. Also, if you're working in a business that is involved in funeral activities, you have to learn to be sensitive.

Fortunately, the butterflies arrived that day but when we did the butterfly release, some of the butterflies were dead and it was very depressing to watch them fall to the ground after the funeral service, especially after being cursed at on the phone by Susan from Mr. Butterflies.

I feel that this is an unjust misrepresentation of what transpired. FedEx did attempt delivery to the address the customer requested delivery to, however no one was there to receive the butterflies. FedEx filed an "exception" and placed a door tag stating that they would reattempt the delivery the following day. Unfortunately for the customer that would not be in time for the funeral and the customer called extremely upset. It is our company practice to have the customer call FedEx directly when there is a delivery problem as they know the destination area and their schedule. I always offer to call FedEx myself should they not feel that their needs were met. On this occasion I did end up talking to FedEx myself and the butterflies where delivered later that same day. I do not know whether the butterflies were properly cared for, however we have a money back guarantee. All the customer had to do was return any butterflies that did not fly at her event and she would have received a pro-rated refund.
