BankruptThere were no assets left in the business, and thereforethe entire staff was let goThe property owner John T (who indeed was the son-in-law to Dominic P)by his own admission and funds took it upon himself to remodel the restaurant and open up a new restaurant, andhired most of the old staff and called it MrDominic's at the LakeHe had no affiliation with the old business,but because he owned the building, he decided to open a new business with a similar nameThe recipes are thesame, due to the old staff being hired, including the head chef and cooksFor two years we accepted old papergift certificates to the tune of $32,that we did not collect penny forIn January of 2014, we receivedlegal advice to stop accepting the old paper gift certificates, as we had no affiliation or Contractual obligationwith the prior, bankrupt businessYou are only the second person that has tried to come forward several yearslater to claim an old gift certificateI hope this explains our position to you and as to why we can no longeraccept the old MrDominic's gift certificatesPlease understand that although this business received nothing andwas not involved with the previous business, we did our best (years' worth of charity) to protect customersfrom lossesIn conclusion we are not obligated by law to refund nor redeem gift certificate money that was neverreceived by this establishment.Thank you for your understanding.Sincerely,Patti W
