Mr Electric of Greater Seattle Reviews (%countItem)

We had an appointment scheduled for 8am today, and they no showed. My fiance called twice and 2 different receptionists pretended they couldn't hear her and hung up on her. She called another 3 times after that, and they just stopped answering the phone. Disgusting behavior displayed by the associates of this business. I advise you to take your time and your money elsewhere.

I had Sanjeev from Mr. Electric of Lynnwood Washington come to my home to resolve an issue with a three way light switch - which he did quickly (around 20 minutes or so). I was then misbilled for $511.50.

I contacted Mr. Electric and have been promised a refund, including being sent a refund receipt with no transaction follow up. I have also reached out multiple times via email and phone with promises of a refund that have not been followed through by the company except an odd phone call from a team member at around 8:00 p.m. that, in all honesty, made my wife a little nervous (the individual sounded inebriated).

Our apologies to Mr.. Sanjeev billed the task correctly from our menu pricing program, based upon average times including driving time. However, as it turned out this particular issue was easier to resolve than most. I am especially troubled that Mr. had been promised the refund stated in his complaint, but did not receive. The call at night puzzles us, but we apologize for that as well. We have since issued the requested refund.

I will notify when received. Thank you again for the assistance.

From my experience I conclude that Mr. Electric will over charge you if they can, so beware. They charged me almost $2,700 for about 7 man hours of work, minimal materials. They wired six recessed lights and 4 smoke detectors that were already in place, plus a light switch and replaced a service wire. The manager threw me a bone and lowered it to $2,300 after I complained. That's still $300 an hour for electrical work.

We did this job March 9, 2018. The original bid was for 2,404.07 plus sales tax. Our technician gave him the pricing and the customer signed written authorization to do the work. The work done was a little more extensive than what the customer shows. However, later when it came time to pay he came by the office and said he would like the amount reduced. We agreed that we agreed that we would reduce the amount by $300.00 plus sales tax to keep the customer happy. We thought he was until now.

I called this company to come do a check on my electrical issues and to replace 2 patio lights (I already had the lights and all I wanted was to swap them out). I was suppose to get an email proposal the day before but didn't want to get one. When they showed up they wanted to charge $400 for the diagnostic and $800 for the 2 lights to get replaced. I thought the lighting price was too high so I called 8 other electricians. They all charged between $75-$110 for the work they wanted to charge $800 for! I had another company do the lights andcharge$100 for 20 minutes of work. After the diagnostics they couldn't give me a straight answer on what the problem was and didn't fix it. They said they would have to rewire and it would cost a bit more. After they left I called around again and was told dignostics would be $100-$150. One company said it would be $300 but include the rewiring. They are blatantly ripping people off and this is something that needs addressing.

We are sorry that you feel you did not receive good value for the money that you paid us. Our initial work order reads: “(the customer)called us to respond to concerns over dimming lights in the house. In addition, the garage receptacle was not working and there were a couple of outside lights that needed to be equipped with light/motion sensors.” Our record show that the service technician arrived on 5/15/18. It was explained to the customer that first there they would need to diagnose the issues at a cost of $425.04 including sales tax. However, once the diagnostic was completed and photos were taken of the issues the customer decided not to accept our price for installing the outdoor light fixtures. The tech clocked out of this job for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The customer called the office after the tech left the job and said that the tech did nothing but charge him for a diagnostic fee without telling him what the problem was. The customer said that he walked around trying to figure out what the problem was. The office sent another technician the following day to resolve the issues and credited him the full amount of the diagnostic’s fee of $425.04 including sales tax the customer paid the day before. The customer thanked us and expressed that he was happy with the new technician. The new technician provided a summary of what was done on the estimate provided to the homeowner as follows. The outlets and lights in the garage/gym were acting faulty. Customer called to have a qualified electrician come look. Wiring in ceiling in garage had no junction box. It looks to be a self-installation by the previous home owner. It burned through the electrical tape and the butt caps. It would have started a fire if not found by the electrician. This should have been caught by the inspector. They used the kitchen circuit and spliced it to the garage power. The garage should have been on a separate power circuit. My recommendation is that a more thorough inspection should be done, especially with the electrical since I found jimmied wiring done and wouldn’t be surprised if more is throughout the house.

The total amount of the repairs done that day was $1,195.89 less the $425.04 cred = $770.85. The customer signed acceptance and paid this amount. The technician reported that he was happy. Later that day, the homeowner called the office and said that the refrigerator had stopped working after the technician left. We rerouted that same technician back who traced out the problem and found it had nothing to do with the work done earlier in the day. It was just on an overloaded circuit. Our technician made the repairs and noted that the customer was happy. The customer ha

Netting all this out: 1) Our first technician should have done a much better job at communicating; 2) The lights he bid on that first estimate were bid too high. We provided more training for the tech involved and these issues have been corrected. It really is a challenge to find great service-minded technicians, train them and then keep them in today’s climate!

Please let me know if there is anything additional I can provide. Again, thank YOU!

Good afternoon ***,

Thank you for being so persevering with us on the long overdue response to the above complaint. There really is no excuse, however. I really appreciate you offering to submit our response on the forms for us. This will help immensely! Thank you!

I will try to condense this. Here it is:
