Mr. Fix-It was hired to repair a leak in the roof of our home in November 2017. We were told that the a dormer required reflashing, and we paid $1,730 for the repair to be carried out. The leak reappeared within two weeks. Several weeks later Mr. Fix-It sent someone out to have a look, and that person showed me that the original leak had not been fixed. He applied caulk as a temporary solution. After multiple attempts to reach Mr. Fix-It by phone, he agreed to return and repair the leak (the problem he had been paid to solve), but insisted that the work could not be carried out until the spring. By June 2018, Mr. Fix-It had not arrived or communicated with us. On June 11, we phoned to ask when the repair could be expected. We were told that it would be carried out the following week. Nobody arrived. On June 27, I phoned to find out why not. During this conversation Mr. Fix-It offered to return the following week, but was openly hostile and denied that the problem was his responsibility. Because he failed in the first instance to solve our problem, and has been consistently unable to meet his commitments since that time, we have lost faith in his competence. I have formally requested a refund.

Nov 2017 we were hired to do repairs at above address. Upon opening repairs, we explained to Mr. that roof done poorly/improperly and we sealed dormer best we could, and explained that roof should be done properly or we at least needed to remove more siding and roofing to do repair at additional cost. we did proceed to fix valley area and did roof tune up. Roof leaked at flashing area or where it is supposed to be. Roofing removed and no flashing were installed. (not done by us). Weather was also very bad when this called we went back to temp area again as they wanted to wait till spring to address bigger repair on new roof. They called in May as that is when weather was finally good, told them we were backed up 4 to 6 weeks at that time and asked if they decided to do bigger repair on roof. they had no answer for me. We would like to go back and try to flash it and finish. thank you, Mark

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We disagree strongly with Mr.s version of events.1) We were not told last November that the repair we had paid for was not carried out. We did not expect, and were not informed at that time, that Mr. would need to come out again to carry out additional work. He did tell us last November that he had concerns about the
roof, but we understood that these did not need to be addressed immediately.2) It is untrue that we would have wanted to wait to repair our roof until the weather had improved. Rather, we wanted our roof to be fixed before the weather caused additional damage to our home. Indeed, that is what we paid for.3) When we called in the spring, we were told that he would arrive within a week. He did not, and provided no explanation.We paid for a repair that was not carried out. We do not have any faith in Mr. or his work. Since it is clear that Mr. did not perform the work he was paid for, we expect a full refund.
