To start with [redacted] was not the only person I wanted to talkto. She is the person that answered the phone & because I have dealt withher though out this procedure, I felt she was the one who handled suchbusiness. She did tell me she would have to talk to [redacted] to get an answer.Which was not to my satisfaction. The reason I wanted compensation was not only because of theA/C, but for numerous reasons. One being the poor scheduling & secondbecause of the poor work that was done. In [redacted]'s response [redacted] states that 3windows were cracked by him & noticed a 4th one which he didn't know if itwas caused by him or not, but would not charge me for them. I replied that ifhe where using a heat gun he would be able to remove all the glazing &might not crack anymore. He replied the other guy, that was to help, wouldbring it. That never happened. In his response to Revdex.com he states there was only one window with no glass in it at that time. What happened to the other three that were previously mentioned. He stated heordered 4 pieces of glass & installed them July 8th Why did he order 4pieces of glass if only one was cracked as he mentioned in his response?   The job was finally finished on July 8th, but I received abill after that dated June 9th. This bill states I owe $576. for labor, $83.for materials, which totals $659. I would like to know where he gets the $80.from. I believe the glazing, caulking, bottle of Windex & a roll of papertowels where included in the estimate, as it was the for the lower level. Ialso received a bill on July 21,2014 that [redacted] worked for 6 hours @96. perhour which totals $576. & Windex $60, Glaze bucket $23. for a total of $83.On Oct. 16th, 2014 I received another bill that reads principle$636.  & interest $23.. for a totalof $659.  I'm sorry but I am so confused by this company, [redacted]'sinconsistencies in his letter & scheduling, resemble his performance in hiswork.  [redacted]

In response to the complaint #[redacted] To the Revdex.com, you have a dead lineto respond to complaints. This time has expired and now we receive this. Youneed to follow your own program. To [redacted].  There is one person in this company that canmake changes. It is not [redacted], it is [redacted]. We are sorry, at this time youdo not qualify for any additional discounts. We have given you 3 hours free service. I cracked 3 window panes andreplaced 4 window panes at no charge.  Ihave spent hours writing rebuttals to things that you okayed.   I told you that I don’t think I cracked itbut I would replace it. Your windows should have been replaced years ago, theyare single pane windows.  The glazing ofthe windows will not decrease her utility bills. She took off the screens fromher windows; she could have put them back on at any time. She knew that we weredone on all areas of her house except the cracked window; it was a bank of 4windows. Now here is her Quote; “if wedon’t discount, we will not get a penny from me”. This sounds like I’mbeing held up for ransom. Now 1 hour later she filed a complaint to the Revdex.com. We had weather issues with rainin May, June and July.  I have a hardtime convincing Mother Nature not to have weather events that keep us fromworking outside. This is why things got pushed back. [redacted] would call [redacted] and[redacted] would call [redacted]; and joke about the weather and reschedule her work.  She was not the only customer affected byweather this year, however everyone has paid there bill. Materials for this job were to besupplied by owner. Paint & Glaze etc. This estimate did not include washing windows, yet she had my tech cleanwindows. That is where you get material charges.  The tech called me and asked me about thewindows being washed, I looked up the estimate and window washing was not onthe list.  He had already purchased andused some of the materials. He stopped washing windows after that call. First, there will be nocompensation in any way on your account. Interest is building each month that this bill is not paid. That is whyyour bill is changing each time you receive one.  The reason the bill was written in June wasthe time allotted to this job was done. All additional hours Mr. Handyman didnot charge you because of the estimate and my word not to exceed it.  $96 x 6 = $576.0  plus $83.00 in Materials = $659.00 Thank you for your time.

Review: Mr. Handyman of Waukesha quoted us for installing additional exhaust fan and replacing gable to front exterior of the home. Their contractor completed only 1/2 of the work and told us that they do not have long enough ladder to replace gable (while they inspected the gable to provide the quote in first place). Also work completed in installing bathroom exhaust fan is not done to our satisfaction.

Mr. Handyman wants to charge more then 75% of the original quote for less than 1/2 work completed (and that is also not in satisfactory condition)Desired Settlement: Complete the job quoted and finish the work in quality manner.

11/11/2015 Revdex.com of Wisconsin 10019 W Greenfield Ave Milwaukee, WI 53214 ID# [redacted] Revdex.com [redacted], The estimate that was done at the home of [redacted] included the following: Remove and Replace gable vent. Install Bath Fan Upstairs, vent to roof Remove Mold Repair, Prime and Paint Our estimate that was done at Mr. [redacted]s home was done by a technician that did not have access to the attic which Mr [redacted]s has quoted. From the outside it looks like a gable vent. It is fake and is not a vent at all, it is a decorative piece. We are not going to cut a hole in the gable if it is not a vent. That part of the job cannot be done by a ladder. We were going to work on it from the inside, not having access we did not know it was not a functional venting system. Now they would need to get a lift to drive on their yard to get to it. A normal gable you can get to with a ladder and it takes about 2 hours to replace at a cost of $250 plus vent. This gable vent will cost 6 hours $588 plus $380 for the lift for a total of $968.00. The tech that was on the job was told only to paint the areas where the mold was and nothing else. The tech said that you cannot match perfectly 100% paint. It is hard to blend in ceilings and walls and there is no guaranty that they will match. The quote was not for repainting there bathroom. Just molded areas that was cleaned. Vent was installed and when he opened it up a squirrel ran out and down the stairs. They knew the squirrel was there because their son heard scratching. But his letter says my tech left something open and that is why the squirrel came in cause his wife and son to be upset. What a surprise to the tech. His statement sent to me was: I will pay full amount if you complete the work as quoted and to our satisfaction. I am getting quotes to repair the gable (which your company decided not to work) and after completing that repair, I will pay the difference between what you originally quoted less amount spend on gable repair. He never complained about the work preformed until he was told that we can’t fix the decorative gable vent under that estimate. I will fix the gable vent for an additional $968.00. We estimated the project to be $1939 for entire job. We sent an invoice for $1600.94. [redacted] Owner Mr Handyman of Waukesha & N Milwaukee Counties

Review: [redacted] Oct 6, 2014

Mr. [redacted] To whom this may concern:

My experience with Mr. [redacted] began back in the spring of 2012. I had my windows re-glazed and re-caulked. As I was extremely happy with the results from that time, I decided to use your services and have the upper level windows re-glazed and re-caulked as well. I talked to [redacted] in the summer of 2013 to schedule an appointment.

I was told that upon my acceptance of your estimate, the work would begin as soon as possible. I had an appointment scheduled for September of 2013. The appointment was put off because of the weather. I received a call in October that someone would be here on Mon. [redacted] called me on Monday to cancel the appointment and reschedule for Wednesday. One worker decided to show up on Tuesday, which was not the day I was told he would show up. He was only able to complete 3 windows due to the cold weather. The work on my windows had completely stopped for the winter.

On this day, I had to pay the employee part of the estimate. I paid $521.00 of the $1180 estimate.

Now we skip ahead to April 2014. I was told I would be receiving a higher estimate than I got back in September because you had to give your employees a raise. This job began back in 2013. It could not be completed due to circumstances beyond my control. Therefore; I should not be responsible for an increase in my estimate.

I had appointments scheduled for work to resume in April this & all others were canceled by Mr. [redacted] for too many reasons for me to remember. [redacted], finally showed up on June 5th. He talked on his phone most of the time he was working, removing the old glazing. As I looked at what he was doing, I mentioned that he had not removed all the old glaze. We had talked about using a blow torch which he said the other guy would bring it to finish that, before glazing. He made mention of breaking a few windows, & that he would take care of it. He did say he would not charge me full price because he was on his phone. I'm not clear on what he's not charging me full price for. He did not finish the job that day and said he would be back June 6th at 10:00 a.m. I received a call from [redacted] on June 6th at 1:00 p.m. saying [redacted] would not be coming. Why am I first getting the phone call 3 hours after he was supposed to be here?

[redacted] came on June 7th with another employee, [redacted]. They did the glazing and caulking without removing the old glaze. So again they left without finishing the job. [redacted] told me they would return to work when they had the glass for the windows.

One June 30th, I received a call from [redacted] saying [redacted] would be coming July 1st to replace the glass and glaze around the windows. July 1st came and went with no one showing up as scheduled. I never received a call from anyone saying no one was planning on showing up.

On July 7th, [redacted] showed up with no notification. He worked for approximately 6-8 hours and left without notifying me as to when or if he would return. He did come back July 8th, again without notification. He finally completed the job and notified me that he did so. The results were less than expected. The glazing is on the glass (approximately an inch all around) which is not acceptable. Again, no one contacted me as to whether or not this would be cleaned up.

This has been quite stressful on both my daughter and myself since we had no idea when or even if the windows would be completed. Meanwhile, my daughter was forced to continuously run her air conditioner and increase her energy bill because the screens were removed for the work given that this whole process has taken a year to complete, the unprofessional behavior, the lack of courtesy and customer service on the part of the company, and the mess left for me to clean up, I don’t believe that I should have to pay this bill.

Sincerely,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Since I paid them $521. of the $1180 estimated, I feel all I owe is $70. Stating that, they did half the job in twice the amount of time.

Review: We called the service Mr. Handyman, assuming that they would send a licensed plumber. They did not send a licensed plumber. Therefore, he was not qualified and experienced to do the job. We had a leakage under the kitchen sink. The unlicensed individual tried to fix the leakage, but he made it worse. Initially, the water was leaking, but now it's pouring. The situation has become worse. After this incidence we called the service Mr. Handyman to tell them about our concern that the person they had sent before had made the leakage worse. They sent another worker who was also not a licensed plumber, he tried to fix the issue but was also unable to do so. The problem is that they had charged for the first unlicensed plumber's service who made the situation worse. They charged $98 per hour, the first visit was for 2 hours. When I had called to ask for a refund of at least one hour's worth, they told me they are paying their workers and rented tools and can't afford to give me my money back. This was upsetting since they sent an unlicensed plumber and did not property fix the leakage under the sink. My time had also been wasted since they had proceeded to come back and forth for 2 days. I want a refund of $196 back.Desired Settlement: I want a refund back of 2 hours worth of service. Each hour's charge was $98. Therefore, I want $196 refund

Response:

Timeline for [redacted] complaint: 4/27/16 [redacted]'s initial call came into the office. The customer was asking for the following: Faucet in bathroom above sink was leaking. Kitchen under sink leaking, change out a faucet, bathroom, Also changing out a light fixture in hallway, if possible. Handle on toilets broke. Estimate deck to be power washed and painted. Scheduled [redacted] on 4/29/16 and he went to her home. He replaced the faucet that customer supplied. Resealed bathroom faucet -which was loose. Looked at garbage disposal, he declined to work on it because disposal was not installed properly and he did not want to further damage it once he would start fixing it. He did not fix the light fixture, location too high. [redacted]'s total charge for this visit was $355.80. 4/30. [redacted] called the office saying kitchen sink was still leaking. We set up a different tech to go out and review [redacted]'s concerns. 5/2. [redacted] (tech #2), was on sight, he found the drain was plugged, by the funnel connection. He indicated to customer that he would need to rent a power auger and would return once he gets the rental. [redacted] did not charge the customer for this visit. 5/4. [redacted] returned with rented power auger. [redacted] started the project from the top down. He could only get to right under the sink and he had to stop because the section was starting to bend. He stopped, he showed the customer what was happening. He explained what the leak was from (the backup drain) and now coming out of the funnel connection. This drain was not up to code. Home owner was shown an example of a "legal code" drainage system. At that point she was advised to get a certified licensed plumber in order to get the drain to proper code. At this point the project was out of scope for our limited licensed ability for plumbing. Again, [redacted] did not charge for this visit or for the rented auger. 5/6 - Customer called into the office asking for 1 hour refund. She didn't feel that any of the work should total this dollar amount. Office indicated they would discuss with owner and get back to her. 5/9 - [redacted] called and left message for [redacted]. 5/10 - [redacted] called and left message looking for [redacted] 5/11/16- [redacted] called office looking for [redacted] again . [redacted] spoke with [redacted] and indicated that she spoke with the owner. She explained that [redacted] applied the appropriate charges for the work that [redacted] did. She explained that we did not charge her for the rental of the auger as well as the two visits that [redacted] came to her home. [redacted] again suggested that the customer contact a fully licensed plumber in order to get her kitchen sink up to code. [redacted] attempted to explain to [redacted] our license ability and how it differs with a certified licensed plumber. She did not understand. Mr. Handyman already discounted approximately $388.56 in rental of the auger, miscellaneous materials and labor. The owner felt this was more than fair compensation for something we legally could not get up to code.

If you need to stay on budget this is not the Co. for you.
