I called Mr & Mrs Plumbing to replace my bathtub and hook up the drain. I asked how much did he charge and he stated had to see the job first. I had purchase my own tub and over flow drain. I remove the toilet and vanity and cut out surrounding wall around the tub and fixtures. Did all the plumbing required for the faucet etc. All I was asking *** to do is lift the tub in place because it was too heavy for me to lift. My daughter and I tried to lift the tub but it was too heavy. I am a female that do all her plumbing work.
When *** came to my home I showed him the bathroom and ask what was the charge. He said $500. I told him that was too much. He then said $400. I said too him that was too much because the job shouldn't take no more that one or two hours. All you be doing is attaching the drain and overflow and replacing the tub. The drain was above the floor (looking right at him). *** said to me usually charge $85 for service call and $125 hour. I said to him you didn't mention this on the phone nor a minute ago.
I hesitated for a minute and told him to do the job. First: I had to tell *** he needed to dry fit the tub with the drain in tact. His partner did the first measurements of the tub compare to drain. The drain was in placed they started to place the tub forcing the tub and they crack my back corner. *** and partner did not hold the tub straight. They did't tell me that they crack my tub. When I came in I notice and got upset. We spoke. *** said he would take this tub out and get another one. That would have taken about two weeks. Therefore, I told him since it's in the corner and backer board would cover to go and finish the job.
They were trying to make the drains fit by pulling etc. They strip the drain. I look in the tub drain and it was all bent and press down. It was too short. So *** said he had to go to the store to get a new one. Now the tub is in place with with strip drain.
When they return I told him that he need to lift the tub out to measure and fix the drain. He said no because he didn't want to crack the tub (I think the tub was already crack again) *** brought in some tubes to hold up the tub and his partner was trying to hold the other end (falling down over and over again) while *** on his tummy lying on the floor trying to connect the drain with feel. After I saw this I went back down stairs because my nerves were bad. I have never saw no one do work like this. I was so afraid my drain would leak. As *** was on his tummy he realize that the overflow was too short also and he went to the truck to get an extension. I said to him if the drain didn't;t strip he was going to do the job with no extensions.
*** wanted to go in my closet to cut some drywall on the other side of the wall to get to the drain and cut some foundation in my home in the basement. I told him NO. The drain is looking right at you. I can do that with that tub lifted.
As stated above I had all parts and the bathtub for the job. The overflow was above floor. Easy assess. He only supplied two extensions. He came to my home at 1:00pm and left at 6:00pm.
When he got done he stated how could he make it right? I said I'll pay him $350. He said ok.
The next day I went to look at the tub notice the tub was cracked at the other end. *** and his partner had cracked the other end of the tub. He never mention it to me. This why when I went upstairs his partner was always standing blocking the corner and this is why *** did't want to lift the tub back out. He already damaged again.
I am disputed this with the bank since my bathtub is damage in two places. The one end is broken off and the other is cracked and I may have to replace if crack continued to run. the backboard nor tile can help. This tub cost cost between between $600-$800.
I should have have let *** start the product when I had to tell him he need to do a dry fit. Never thought of asking him if he have ever done a job like this. I feel since I was a female he was trying to take advantage of me trying to charge me $500.
I Had to tell *** to fill tub with water up to the overflow for it to set all night for leaks.
*** did NOT replace dry wall or any other material and he wanted tear out my house and foundation of my home. Is *** a contractor?

Martin and his son did a great job with my underground sewer line issue in my bathroom. He returned calls, showed up on the days he said he would and worked 2 days to finish our job. The job was not easy, and Martin and his son gave me straight answers, refused to take shortcuts and got the job done at a reasonable price. I'll call him again for other jobs.

Was an absolute NIGHTMARE and a miserable experience working with Martin M at Mr and Mrs Plumbing from Commercial Point Ohio. Paid them almost 5k to do a rough in at a house im renovating, he was always demanding checks after he told me he wouldn’t collect any money up front. We paid him in full almost 4 weeks ago and now he will not return to finish the job that we have a contract from him in writing after he gave me his word if I paid him in full he would finish the job. He is now demanding more money claiming he did a refrigerator line that was not included in the quote, but in fact he told me he would throw that in for free if I went with his quote and we actually had a conversation where I was asking him to add that to the quote before he started working and he never did and he said “I needed to trust him”. Now that the final check has cleared the bank he keeps telling me he will “DO ME A FAVOR” and show me how to finish the job. He called for inspection and still had 10 hours of work to do and was running around chasing down leaks, he literally replaced 1 connection 3 times because it was leaking until his wife finally read the PVC glue bottle and told him they needed to let it setup for 24 hours. When the inspector showed up he failed the job and Martin actually told me he “HOPED HE DIDN’T CATCH THAT”. The sad thing is he is our neighbor and told me on numerous occasions “Im your neighbor do you think I will *** you over” which is exactly what he did. He is NOT a man of his word, and is very cocky and arrogant with nothing to back it up, he doesn’t know any of the building codes and makes BOLD statements constantly where his facts are NOT correct and it just shows his ignorance! On 1 occasion he actually told me he was going to go in the house and “rip out all the plumbing” and at that time he was paid probably 80%. He is a mediocre plumber with a horrible bad attitude. It was a struggle for me to decide to put this review out there since he is our neighbor but I felt obligated to let people know about him since we based using him off of his internet reviews before we even realized we were neighbors. If he will do all of this to a neighbor what do you think he will do to you. I have asked him thru texting on several occasions what I and my wife have ever done to him to deserve this kind of treatment and of course he never gives a reply. I finally decided enough was enough and have hired another plumber to finish the job. After our last text conversation I told him to never step foot back on my property again. BEWARE! You Have Been Warned!
